Perkier Boobs...

Channel-surfing this a.m., I saw this on the guide page. How could we not click on that one. Two strings of thought were tying together in my mind, maybe three. A.) what 75-year-old grannie doesn't want perkier boobs? and 2.) it was probably an info-mercial for the Aah Bra. We'll get to the third... Sign in to see full entry.

Seeing Stars

1953. Seattle. I was renting a room from Mom's cousin Hazel in their home in the Beacon Hill neighborhood. Hazel's husband Mike was a glazier by trade and a carpenter/builder by training, and he had designed and built their home. He made their dining table and chairs, lovely Swedish modern, put in... Seen at a recent Joan Baez personal appearance

Audience Response Even more beautiful now, features honed by the sanding wheel of time, her performance polished by repetition her voice still carries the strong emotion that called to arms a generation. As she takes her final bow the once-disenfranchised fans in the front rows raise their fists in... Sign in to see full entry.

Update on the Techno thing...

Repacked the IMac it in it's box, took it back to Best Buy. Explained that I'm just too set in my ways to deal with the new thing. They kindly took it back, gave me store credit even though I was nearly a week past the 15-day return guarantee. Soon I'll decide which PC to buy and I'll trust the Geek... Adventures in Techno-World

I may have mentioned that I bought a new 'puter. A Mac. Plugged it in on Tuesday after visiting Blogit, thinking I'd be able to hook up to the web and get back to the old neighborhood by the end of the day. Wrong! By the time I unplugged Ol' Betsy and moved the components to the dining room table, I... Sign in to see full entry.

A bit about the work of poets...

Beauty, Harmony, Peace And Light Such was the stuff of poetry, I thought. Appreciation of the glories of nature, the wonders of the world, love in all its permutations and complications. Then I read a warrior poet -- railing in fury against injustices, ranting about man's inhumanity to man, of... Sign in to see full entry.

Big whoop!

This is a fine kettle of fish, Washington, when you break into programming on all networks to announce you're finally thinking about actually earning your paychecks. Too bad this baby step forward isn't in the spirit of caring, of dedication to the greater good. The lot of you are dragging your... Sign in to see full entry.

Gnats, a short short story

As they made their way along Main, Joe stopped to light his notcig, unable to kick the puffer habit even though no kind of smokable stuff was available on or off the street. Harmless water vapor, the ads said. Mint fresh. Who knows what mint actually smells like, Art wondered to himself. He snorted... Sign in to see full entry.

Mouse trapped

I was started on a very diverting little story about a minute ago. It was a story of a young career girl named Ruby who left home at fifteen in search of freedom and decent clothes. It seems she was a country girl with a dada who taught her the ways of men when she was twelve. By the age of fifteen,... Sign in to see full entry.

Tea Party? Government Shutdown? Holy Crap!

I've been thinking a lot lately about these things. Check that! Not thinking. There's no logical analysis going on here. What I'm doing is spazzing running in circles freaking out! And the hot weather isn't helping my fevered brain... My thought process has gone circular with what-ifs, the sky is... Sign in to see full entry.
