That place belongs to a landlord who does as little maintenance as he can. One renter caulked some spots in the soffits,... Sign in to see full entry.

NUTS!
This has been a banner year for the next door neighbor’s walnut tree. Last year it barely produced two dozen fruits that landed on my side of the property line. This year my boys scooped up two five-gallon pails full, and left almost that many behind. Russ says he’s going to plant twenty or thirty... Sign in to see full entry.

Every workplace I’ve spent time in has its “Handsy Andy,” the guy who tells sex jokes and/or propositions... Sign in to see full entry.

Early on in his tenure, Lew had taken on a public service research survey involving several other colleges: our Carbondale campus, the U of I at Champaign, and several community colleges. The others did most of the... Sign in to see full entry.

On the Job - Part 2
1990 - How The Rug was Pulled Within the first month of his arrival at the department, Lew changed the work. He decided certain aspects – info gathering on zoning regulations and mapping the locations of undermined areas – should be put on the back burner in favor of his own most marketable talent... ON THE JOB
1984: Office of Area Development, SIUE “I want to exploit you,” Dr. K said to me after we’d met to talk about some changes he wanted to make in my job description. When my eyebrows went up and he saw my shocked expression he said, “I mean that in the best way, of course.” What he meant by that, I... Sign in to see full entry.
