PRIMARY ELECTION DAY AT THE CENTER

They’d already set up the tables at the front and back door: signs that said “this way to vote” with giant arrows, a bottle of hand sanitizer and a box of facial tissues. It was all ready by the time they opened The Center’s doors at 8:00 a.m. The election judges, the voting booths, etc., were all... Sign in to see full entry.

As of today, no restaurants can serve meals inside - only take-out and drive through. Looked like Starbuck's was doing ok - the usual coffee... Sign in to see full entry.

BODY, BRAIN, MIND - AND TIME

This is fund drive season at Channel 9. Yesterday they broadcast another of those healthy lifestyle programs – Mind Body Brain connections. I get hooked on presentations by nutrition experts who know the chemical effects of various foods and junk snacks on the brain, what stuff causes inflammation... Sign in to see full entry.

ON EASING WRITER'S BLOCK

One thing that blocks a writer’s ability to sit at the keyboard and just let ‘er rip is interruption by distractions. On a good day the fingers will work almost as fast as the movie that’s playing in the mind, time will stand still and every little thing in the surrounding ‘real’ world fades into... STORY PROMPT: LOOKING FOR A STARTING POINT??

She had been away from the house for two long weeks on a business trip. After she unpacked her bag, she headed for the hall closet to store the suitcase. She noticed the hardwood floor was covered in a layer of dust. That’ll be job one, she thought as she tucked the bag inside. But not now. Tonight... Sign in to see full entry.
