Pat, this is an awesome short story. So many people pass by the check-out counter in a week. I can imagine all the different people they speak to and get to know.

We all have our special needs, including those who have no choice in the matter. You touched on many different situations that we can all relate to in one way or another. You are brilliant this way with your writing.
