Summertine: summer house

It's summertime, though you'd barely know it here in East Anglia! at least it only rained for part of the day today and only after a local builder had finished constructing a new summerhouse in the garden. The Church Fete

There is something of a tradition about the English village church garden fete. Ours took place in the village today. Last year it was held in the vicarage garden and almost completely washed away by summer storms. The weather today was more like April showers and, thankfully, most of the afternoon... Football and friendship

As regular readers will know, I'm a keen football (soccer) fan. My team - Leeds United - finished just outside the Play Off places and so will stay in the same league for another season. Aloha

What can I say? Hawaii's Kauai Island was just beautiful. I've posted pictures if you want to have a look. We got back last week after 10 days on the beach and driving round the island in our hired Mustang. The hotel at Poipu beach was breathtaking and lots of music, sunbathing and serious iPod... Spring in the Derbyshire Peak District

I'm currently visiting my Mum and Dad in Derbyshire. They live in a converted barn next door to my sister's house. A domestic headache
