My grandson, Raphael, is a super hockey player, but also excels in soccer. He loves both the games with equal intensity...and I'm sure you will follow your favorite sport no matter what - past the 'golden' age, LOL!

Wonderful day out with friends
Happy Birthday to your father.  My Mom watched every sport every day depending on the season.  I'm the only one in my family not interested in sports so I just smile and nod during a lot of the sports conversations.LOL

Well Malcolm when your Dad was a boy it wasn't much incentive to stand in a muddy field roped off. One had a good view but there was not much atmosphere clothes did not keep the weather out and shoes seemed to leak at the slightest provocation. So perhaps it was a bit of a turn off for him even if he only went to a match occasionally.  Now I can see you going forever nearly and it is nice to share with friends even if your Dad declines.

It's neat to see that your passion in sports started at such a young age. For me, I got into sports as a teen.

May you be able to travel to watch matches even at 87! Thanks for your visit!

I think soccer's a game best enjoyed at the field
and with the crowd. Perhaps that's true of all competitive games. The crowd, the energy, all the atmosphere is what makes it fun, no matter which team wins.
