Go to Malcolm's midwife: Words from the heartAdd a commentGo to Work, work, work

Came by again to tell you that this reminded me of Bernard Shaw's quote,
there are three kinds of lies - lies, damned lies and statistics.

Your first paragraph prompted me to consider the difference, if any, between interpretation and spin.

I think 'interpretation' is how we see it, while 'spin' is a deliberate attempt to have it seen in one's own way.

my how things have changed, young men getting their hair dyed

Sounds like my present color of hair! I enjoyed math & science in school, but your web expertise has me completely baffled!

Dyeing one's hair is just a form of self-expression. I've only done it twice in my life & neither was while I was in school. As for math/science. I never did well with them. Though, I do find I'm more interested in scientific things, as an adult. As for math, the basics are enough.

I have always been amazed at the popularity of statistics when they can be skewed to reflect whatever the provider of them would like! sam

Math and science were not my strong suits either.

Well I suppose one must keep ahead of the pack Malcolm, if you enjoy or can tolerate it then it is the only way.

It sounds like you have the most important equation worked out, as for the rest of them I bleieve the answer they are looking for is "some beans"

Keep spinning those statistics and you'll be the perfect
candidate for political office.  I always hated crunching numbers when it was part of my job. I knew it was useful, and there were times when it solved problems, but so regimented and blocked off.

My daughter dyed her hair pink just prior to High School
graduation 6 years ago. I was so pleasedLOL.  She has the most beautiful strawberry blonde hair and she dyes it red, auburn, dark brown all the time.  I am very right brain also.  I thought your equation was the only equation there was.  I did find out that x=a secret.

Know the feeling of work, work, work
As for analysing web stuff it's a little like smoke and mirrors isn't it.

Funny how teens want to dye their hair. I am so old  fashioned and hope my kids don't do it until they're about 45. They have such lovely shiny hair when young .
