My high school reunion

This weekend I went back to high school for my fifth reunion. I know it's not such a big number, but I wanted to go, anyways. I was on the fence about whether or not to go, because my best friend was in the class behind me, and some of the other people I hung out with when I was in high school weren't planning on coming. I shouldn't have worried about that; I had a good time, anyways. My high school class was very cliquey, in many ways. Even the guys had cliques. But when I went back to Blair... I don't have much time to write...

I'm leaving in about 45 minutes to go to my reunion. But I just wanted to let you know how the interview went. I think it went fine. They're kind of desperate for someone to fill the position and have been looking for months now. It's not the most glamorous position in the world, but it seems OK. The next few weeks...

Are going to be busy. Had drinks with my friend J this evening. He works at Goldman Sachs and is leaving at the end of the month to go back to Virginia--he misses it, apparently. I love it here and wonder why anyone would ever want to leave, but that's just me. We went for beer at an outdoor pub on Stone Street in the Financial District, near where J works. We don't really know each other well, so it was nice to sit out and talk among all the investment bankers. Oh, and I hadn't had anything to... Sign in to see full entry.

Raining and warm here, and I spent the day at work, as usual. I like what I'm doing, but I keep losing concentration whenever I have a big project to do--like today and the end of last week, where I've been cleaning out the mail room. It's a project that needs a lot of steam under it, because the mail room is where everybody dumps their junk when they don't have any other place to put it, or they just don't want it any more. As a result, I've found all kinds of weird stuff there: old publicity... Sign in to see full entry.

BEA

This morning I went to Book Expo America at Javits Center over on 11th Avenue. The convention center overlooks the Hudson River, and its absolutely ENORMOUS. Basically, BEA runs for several days, where publishers, editors, agents, etc., come to showcase what's going on in publishing; and today was the last day. The last day of the fair is always the best, since publishers are trying to offload stuff. I ended up with two ARCs (advanced reader's copies) for books coming out over the summer and...
