A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

My best friend called this afternoon and invited me "down the shore." We're going with her girlfriend, as well as some other friends of theirs; and it should be fun. It'll be fun to get out and get some sun and sand, if only briefly. I'm taking the train early tomorrow morning to Matawan from Penn Station, where A and J will pick me up. MN's a nice guy, but I wasn't all that attracted. Its amazing that people can behave completely different in real life than they do on the internet. We talked for about two hours in this bar and I must say that I was a little drunk at the end of the night. He has a great sense of humor, but I couldn't stand his teeth and the sound of his voice annoyed me. Feeling a little bit nervous about meeting MN tomorrow... don't know what to expect, exactly. We're meeting for drinks at this bar on the west side that citysearch describes as having good drinks and as being romantic. Apparently the music is quiet and there are couches and chairs positioned so that people can get to know one another. For the record, he was the one who chose the bar, so I'm looking forward to it. The weather here has been up and down--sunny all day but raining right now. We had some cold weather at the end of the week but it warmed up today. Last night the downstairs neighbors had a garden party that went on for a long time; and as people got drunker, they got louder.
