I spent the weekend in DC visiting my friend J, who lives there and goes to graduate school there. She actually lives in an apartment in Arlington, which is a suburb of the city. I was actually really jealous of the apartment: she has a concierge, a washer and dryer IN THE APARTMENT, a dish washer, and 700 square feet of space in her studio apartment. Also, it was a very nice, modern building with AC and a gym in the basement. She only pays about 100 dollars a month more. Go figure. Anyways, so... Sign in to see full entry.

SPI
Last summer, I took a course in publising at NYU. This morning I went back in order to participate on the alumni panel of gust speakers. It was actually a lot of fun. The panel lasted for about an hour and a half, and afterwards there was time for questions and answers. People actually had quite a lot of questions, though they were mostly about how much vacation time we get at our jobs, and how much we generally get paid. So these kids were, not surprisingly, quite clueless. Last summer there... Sign in to see full entry.

Absolutely exhausted
After work. I'm in the mood for a drink, and maybe I'll go to bed early tonight. My fiend from high school said he'd think about coming into the city to hang out for the day, but it looks like that's not happening. Secretly, I'm kind of glad; I need my beauty sleep, lol. Also, it's supposed to rain here tomorrow, and there's nothing I'd like more to do than lie in bed late and listen to the rain. We'll see what happens. Everyone have a happy Fourth! Enjoying my Sunday
So I'm relaxing at home, with nothing really to do. Its so infrequently that I get moments like this that I'm enjoying it. For once, I'm not worrying about C. I'm also trying to come up with something to do for the 4th--I only get the one day off, so I'm going to try to make the most of it. Macy's has a fireworks display going on that night, over the East River between 23rd and 42nd streets; but don't know if I want to fight the crowds. Or, what I could do is walk to the middle of the Brooklyn... Sign in to see full entry.

Postscript to my last post...
So C, my high school guy, did, in fact, call me! The very day that I gave him my number! It's just that my phone has been on the fritz and I didn't find out that he left a message until this evening, Damn! So I'm off to the Verizon store first thing in the morning to find out what's going on with the phone situation. Now I'm kicking myself for not returning his call for more than 48 hours, and kind of wasting the weekend. Wy am I worrying so much about this? Why can't I just sit back and relax?...
