Church Counseling or Not?

Many ministers and priests and rabbis provide counseling to members of their congregation. Whether it be marriage or substance abuse or family problems, they give it. I wonder if they do as good a job as a trained, licensed couneslor or therapist? If I need such help or counseling, I'd certainly go... Sign in to see full entry.

Church Obligations

Other than promote a religion and help parishoners with their spiritual journey, what should a church do? Many get involved in charities. Is this a natural function of churches? If it is, how should a church decide which charities to help? Some churches provide services to their congregations such... Sign in to see full entry.

Church and Politics

As November comes about, we will soon have the traditional Pastor recommendations to their congregations about how to vote. I do believe that a church should be designed for physical comfort, at least up to the extent that you are too comfortable and fall asleep during a... Sign in to see full entry.

Pagan Rites in the Church . . .

Many Christian churches, particularly the Catholic Church, seem to have "borrowed" Pagan rites and adapted them to Christianity. There is the Host, of course, one of the more obvious. If you eat of a powerful being, you will become like that being. Formulated prayers are no more than spell casting.... Sign in to see full entry.

Modern vs. traditional churches

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but how does God see it? There are still many churches with steeples, basically rectangular in shape and "church-looking" around. MAny of the newere churches, however, are more modern in appearance, looking sometimes like an office building, sometimes like a... Sign in to see full entry.

Pagan Symbols on Cathedrals . . .

I've read that many, if not most, of the cathedrals built during the middle ages have various Pagan symbols and statuary carved into the stones of the cathedrals. Interesting, eh? Sign in to see full entry.

A New Church is More Than a New Building.

A new church has to be a new attitude toward your own spirituality. A new church will redefine your inner life and get you onto the right path, which may well differ from my path, perhaps as it should. A church should be a place of unselfish desire to better one's self, one's community and one's... Sign in to see full entry.
