Because of Isabel . . .

Emergency services will cease when winds reach 58 mph sustained, that could be any time now. Over 2/3 of the people in the Hampton Roads area are without power, maybe more by now. Sign in to see full entry.

... thanks to Isabel's arriving winds. And she has yet to get here. Imagine what will happen when Isabel actually arrives! We still have power, obviously since I'm posting. But not sure how long that will last. Sign in to see full entry.

Tornado watch

Hampton Roads, VA has just been issued a tornado watch, smaller gifts of Hurricane Isabel. The governor of VA states that we may be seeing "100 year levels" of water. Sign in to see full entry.

The Navy has departed

In anticipation of Isabel's visit, the Navy has moved their ships out to sea where they will better weather the storm. Navy and Air Force aircraft have flown to airbases further inland, mostly out of state. Sign in to see full entry.
