Another Child

Recently on BlogIt, there's been a outright war started by a certain blogger concerning how many children a woman would be happiest bearing... It is noteworthy that this blogger is male and has no chance of getting pregnant, and therefore, really isn't qualified to issue an opinion on the subject anyhow. I jumped in FactorFiction's discussion about the women bloggers' opinions toward childbearing; I decided long ago to not bear children. Motherhood really isn't for everyone, and contrary to the... I'm Back and Empowered!

Actually, I never went anywhere, though I did lose power all day yesterday from having the circuit box replaced. God protects in ways we don't even realize sometimes. Greg, the guy who installed the new breaker box, discovered the old one wasn't even grounded. How can anybody with sense enough to do any house wiring at all not ground a breaker box?! One well-placed lightning strike would have ignited the house!! Of course, I wasn't really in any danger, because I know the One who's in charge of... Sign in to see full entry.

Oh Boy!! I'm Getting a Circuit Breaker Box for My Birthday!

I was sitting, early in the morning of my 45th birthday, studying my penny stock investing book, when suddenly the lights went out. That's an indescribeable feeling to which all of us can relate, that feeling of instant vulnerability of sitting in the dark, knowing we're helpless without power. So much for all our progress, huh? I assumed it was a power outage, but then I looked over and saw the display on my microwave still on... Uh-oh... So I looked out the back door, and the security light... Sign in to see full entry.

Reflections on My 45th Birthday

Today's my birthday, and I'll choose this comic sans MS to write this post, because life is sweeter with a sense of humor and a lot less anger. I realize 45 isn't old, and I certainly don't feel 45, and quite honestly, I don't look 45 (it's all those raw veggies and tea I consume, plus nutritional supplements). Being 20 feels like it was three weeks ago......But I wouldn't want to be 20 for all the money in the world. Despite all the things that's still wrong in my life (and who doesn't have... Almost Deleted...

The apostle Paul said it best in Romans 12:18: " If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men." The key words in that passage are "If it be possible"... We all know that sometimes that isn't always possible, and in those unfortunate situations, it's best to walk away, and that's just what I did this week when a blogger called me an idiot and declared my life is probably insignificant, and took the name of God in vain in the comments section of my blog. I didn't insult... Sign in to see full entry.

How High Will They Go?

I just read anglofinspirtion 's blog about the high gas prices. If ever any issue was a universal problem, these worse-than-highway robbery gas prices are it. It hits all of us, and those with long commutes to work, or the countless souls slaving away at minimum wage jobs are hit the hardest. Mom and I live in a rural area, and anywhere we drive is a long distance, so for us, we combine trips together as much as possible. Recently, we left early in the day and made 9 stops in that trip. It saved... Sign in to see full entry.

To the Right of the Decimal...

This entry really should be placed in my new business/investing blog, Swimming in Stock-Infested Waters, but this blog gets the most clicks, and I want to share something with you which can greatly enhance your finances: http://pennystocks.org/index.html This is a free, complete book on investing in penny stocks: To the Right of the Decimal: Understanding Penny Stocks. Peter Leeds is the author, and this book explains how to profit, really profit, by trading penny stocks. I've just begun reading... Sign in to see full entry.

TIRED!

I realize that TIRED is a very common complaint. Many of us in this overworked, overstressed world blunder through life tired. Today started with taking my Dulcinea dog to the vet to be spayed. I'd been up late, gotten up early, and had trouble sleeping anyway, so I was worn out when we left, then nerved out after we'd gotten to the vet's office. Dulcinea became carsick and barfed 3 times on the way. I knew some cats tend to get carsick, but I thought doggies rode better than that... Anyhow,... Sign in to see full entry.

It's Official: Tom Cruise is a Lunatic

I just turned my computer on for a moment to check my e-mail. My home page links to news, and I found this link: http://entertainment.iafrica.com/news/243452.htm This wasn't the only link on the story. The story is that Tom Cruise is planning to eat the placenta when the Cruise/Holmes baby is born....And I thought I had a screwed up life. Man, I'm fine. I only have problems which have solutions. At least I'm not stark-raving crazy. I think I'll stop, thank God, and count my blessings. Later,... Sign in to see full entry.

A Songbird Spring

So many news things are unfolding for me that I feel as if I'm having my own private spring, a rebirth from the death of winter. The tax returns were mailed and there'll be a refund this year, and I've staked my claim of it. I'm going back into the stock market. I'll be trading penny stocks, where the profit potential is greatest due to the low share prices and volatility. I started a new blog about it tonight, too. I seriously considered starting a writing/editing service, even thought of a... Sign in to see full entry.
