Joyous Sound

There was a sound surrounding sound the energy of the sun the caress of the wind the whispers of the leaves and the soft padding of the earth there was a sound a joyous sound music in me the sound of your name on my lips that vibrated through my body and sprang forth from my heart I sang a song a love song delighted in the day and enchanted by the light of the moon it was harmony it was crystalline it was joy of new Life it was the life I lost it was the life I found it was the life I sought to... It was a rape of my Soul--- Like shattered glass shards the crystal castle image of our love was smeared by the blood of your lust. Dangerous fragments and chunks of our broken lives- Pieces with sharp edges that pierce and Slice- Worse Yet, the unseen slivers that furrow deeper as you try and pluck them out. With cunning, you'd lift up a piece of clear crystal fragment and hold it to the Light I would see a rainbow- and cry. © J K Sommers, June 9, 1995 Sign in to see full entry.

A Lily in My Garden

There grows a white Lily in my garden I do not know how it came to be there but it is a wonder to behold Placed by fate among the thorns and brilliant color of my roses Her face is fair and white as china her stem, strong and smooth-- no thorns to scratch or prick me-- She stands alone Not drooping like the daffodils or weakened like the tender violets but firm in her foundation, her face looking ever towards the heavens. Her leaves are thick and green like shields against the storm, perfect... Sign in to see full entry.

Bullshit ask me, ask me to speak, to tell you feelings, thoughts and desires Passions flow out with torrents rainstorms, thundering, flooding over hearts deep and longing Love and friendship lost to anger love not, want not, seek not, am not above the heart into the head stirs the words of discontent speak, spoken, driven out into the air off the top of my head don't cross this boundary and be civilized, this is anger, this is war and yet I say I love you? Tell me, tell me to be as you say, do... Sign in to see full entry.

Prosperity, you changeling– A phantom which the hearts of men pursue with virulent ambition the peace of present times undo Soothsayers and politicians boast of better days ahead what can you defend against when prosperity is the promised end? Prosperity, you robber of peace planting seeds of discontent laying measure for measure weakness and life wasted, spent What more can you gain from this apparition with its ethereal and greedy definition? But the frivolous praise of simple men? What truth... Sign in to see full entry.

Golden heads swaying in the sun Daisies from a land beyond make their home, a foreign one, Their seeds fly in the warm breeze roots spread quick among the reeds Strangers, in a strange land–Free Yet here is Earth to lay upon nutrients to make one strong A place, like home, to belong Water too, for life to flourish without which all would perish The blood of Earth to drink and cherish Light energy bathes the land warmth infused into the sand A treasure given without command A Zephyr no one can... Secret Treasure

You dive into pain, wince, like plunging into high, salty waves with all the sting stealing your breath away Then, once the smack dulls, dives in again for more Or, clutch closely heartache, like threads of a well knit blanket Each knit a different color of melancholy Each pearl, a tear fallen You live so meshed– without a break– in sorrow the days are dull and useless riding the carousel up and down from love to loathing reaching for the brace ring of peace, just out of reach, just beyond... An Acrostic Form--

~~~Remembering Julia~~~ Reservations are made ahead of time Employed to hold desire for a latter date Making room for other things Escaping that imminent fate My Child of Desire came forth Beckoned by loss of love Earth and Water making love, Resurrecting the form once lost-- In ignorance cut from the womb-- Now, radiant living Light Growing brilliant, a living memory Je t'aime avec toute mon âme, mon enfant Under the stars that shine constant Life is in you, by our design It is yours for you to... Fool's Spring
Fool's Spring The snow has all melted and the sun’s rays are warm Clouds dance by without leaving a storm The robin is heralding the day with a song and buds are breaking from trees in a throng I take up my hoe and turn up the soil lay down my seeds with fervent joy So soon came Spring two crops shall I field When June comes along I’ll have a bounteous yield February sun was warm and bright my crops sprouted and grew upright March came in with a Lions roar frost and snow have taken their toll No...
