Bigotry is Okay?

That is if you are among those who feel the need to bash Christians. Now, I know that some of you consider me a bigot but let me clear something up. There's a big difference between having an issue with someone's behavior and attacking someone because of how they believe. I don't attack anyone even if I believe that their behavior is unacceptable. I may speak out regarding my beliefs which are based on the Bible but I do not personally attack anyone. I may say something regarding someone's... Sign in to see full entry.

Life Ends At 39 for Anna Nicole...

Though I was never a fan of hers, I do think she had some good qualities. The fact that she loved animals was definitely to her credit. Unfortunately, she lived her life too hard and too fast and spent more time thinking about herself and what felt good than the effects of all of it. I guess I feel more sorrow for her little girl who will never get to know her mother and the only thing she will likely know is all of the hoopla from the media. I'm sure that a lot of Anna Nicole's problems stem... Sign in to see full entry.

I am truly amazed...

that so many writers on here do not have a grasp on vocabulary. Several times, I have been called a racist or a bigot and neither of those words are being used accurately. Some of you need to get out a dictionary and find out what you are saying because most of you are simply repeating what others who are uneducated are using. Both "racist" and "bigot" imply hatred of someone and I don't hate anyone. I have no animosity toward those who are Latino or gay. You guys take things out of context and... A New Kind of Immigrant?

The following was sent to me in an email. Since they said they want it passed around the country, I thought this would be a great place to post it. I don't think I could say it better myself! Date: Tue, 6 Feb 2007 09:20:36 -0800 NOT printed in the Orange County Paper................... Newspapers simply won't publish letters to the editor which they either deem politically incorrect (read below) or which does not agree with the philosophy they're pushing on the public. This woman wrote a great... Sign in to see full entry.

Boston vs. The Cartoon Network?

I am so glad to hear that Turner Network will be paying the Boston law enforcement agencies $2 million after their little escapade last week. Hopefully, it will send a message to others who might decide to pull a similar stunt. Considering how much manpower was involved in dealing with their little caper for publicity, what would have happened if a real emergency had come up during the middle of that? The other issue is that what they did could easily give some other idiot or a terrorist an idea... Sign in to see full entry.

Sneaking in the back door?

I just received an email about a very scary thing going on in state legislatures - especially Arkansas. Since the public has come out so strongly against homosexual marriage, the homosexual movement is trying a different tactic by using the old ERA Amendment to get what they want. In the first place, equal rights are already provided within the Constitution and there is no need for extra protection as long as we enforce what's already on the books. What the homosexual community is attempting to... Sign in to see full entry.

Hey, what happened to everyone?

I've noticed that we aren't getting posts from several of our regulars lately - like for almost 2 months. Did some of our group give up on Blog It or something? Sign in to see full entry.

The Race Card?

A few days ago, I received an evite from a man with a site devoted to black people discussing issues related to race. Since I'm white, I found that a bit humorous but after emailing the guy to tell him that I was white and commenting that I find that spending so much time focused on one's race fuels more fire than solves problems, I was met with a very angry email in return. Now, before some of you jump all over me, let me explain what I mean. I have some very close friends who are black and... Sign in to see full entry.

Just for the Record...

If a leader can't control himself and behave himself in private and know what is right from wrong in private, how can he possibly know the difference between right and wrong decisions when leading a country? Sign in to see full entry.

Small Beginnings, Big Dreams

How many of you either have small businesses, are trying to start small businesses, have an idea and want to start a business, have a craft/art item you sell or want to sell, or simply need to make extra money to supplement your income? I know that's a lot of questions in one but there is a reason for it. I think many of us fall into one or more of those categories and I believe we could all be helped by other people's knowledge, encouragement, support or help. I know I could. Every one of us... Okay, back to business...

Hillary Clinton is running for President. Now, I'm not at all adverse to a woman as President but this woman is another story. First of all, I have issues with the fact that she seems to have stayed with her husband more for her own political gain than anything. From what I can tell, they have some sort of pact that he had his turn and now it's hers. Maybe I'm wrong but I have a hard time respecting someone who would stay with a man who constantly cheats on her, especially for the whole world to... Sign in to see full entry.

ALERT! DOG OWNERS, WE HAVE A PROBLEM!

The poop is everywhere! What do we do? Today, I got an email from my sister desperate for a solution to a problem I'm sure is running rampant throughout the world. How do you tell a neighbor to pick up the poop his pet is leaving behind in your yard? A few months ago, my sister got a miniature Dachshund and recently she's had a challenge with two neighbors who walk their dogs and allow them to poop in her yard and don't clean up after themselves. This is causing problems with her yard person and... Sign in to see full entry.

Just Sharing Some Good News For Now...

Earlier today, one of the people on the Judy's Book site gave my Cafe Press Shop, Whimsy Originals, a five star review, which I'm very excited about! And, I was finally able to buy a domain name that will enable people to go directly to the shop, which will be available in just a few days and I'm excited about that. If you'd like to check it out, the current address is http://www.cafeshops.com/whimsyoriginals. I'm just glad to finally get some traffic there. And, there will be several... Just a thought...

In my last post, I asked if you are a hero and someone posted a comment that she had helped a neighbor and children at Christmas time. It occurs to me that if we all try to "adopt" a family to help throughout the year in some way, shape or form. You may not be able to do much but you could offer to help in some way if you don't have money or you could leave small notes of encouragement anonymously. It doesn't take much to make someone's life a little better and encourage them to keep going when... Sign in to see full entry.

Are You A Hero?

Would you jump on the tracks of a speeding train and cover a man in convulsions to save his life? I'm sure many of you have heard about the man in New York City who did just that recently. From what he described, I'm really amazed that he did what he did. Given the same circumstances, I doubt that I would have done so. Not because I wouldn't have wanted to save the man on the tracks but simply because I wouldn't have known what to do being a small woman. It never would have occurred to me to do... Should urine tests be required to get welfare?

I received an email earlier today that a man wrote suggesting that people who live off the government should be required to take urine tests to get their welfare checks. His point is that where he works, he is required to take them periodically and he thinks that since his taxes pay for these people on welfare, they should also be required to take urine tests to earn their welfare checks. As he put it, he has no problem helping someone to get back on their feet but he has a real problem paying... Sign in to see full entry.

The Face of Courage

I wonder how many people in our country would be willing to endure the sacrifices that Martin Luther King and his widow and others like them endured in this day and age. I'm not sure that I would be willing to be so selfless. For those of you who either weren't here or are too young to remember the 60's, it was a dramatic time. Especially in the part of the country where I lived. I lived in Shreveport, Louisiana, and spent most of my summers in southern Mississippi and, while I didn't have first... I like Bush's reply...

To his critics. If they don't like his plan, what brilliant ideas have they got? I find that it's real easy to find fault with someone, especially when you've made up your mind to dislike them and eveything they say, even if you don't really listen to what the person is saying. We all disagree with other people, that's just part of being individulas. But what I have a hard time with is the complete and utter hatred that I've heard spewed about a man who has the world on his shoulders, so to... Sign in to see full entry.
