I have thought about this too. I think that people that receive aid and
have dependents (children) should be drug tested. Because in all actuality they are being paid by the state to watch, take care of, nurture and raise the future of mankind. It makes sense when you think about all the licenses and certifications that childcare businessses are required to have. In general though, I am against drug testing as I find it unconstitutional. It undermines many things that freedom is based upon. It is a complex issue. The drug war is a sham too. As soon as man was able to get high, he did so and surely will as long as that gaping void exists in so many of us. Drug use and abuse is a symptom not the cause of very deep seated human misery.
