I think you're right...
Unfortunately, just praying is not good enough when it comes to standing up for your beliefs.  The Bible says that faith without works is dead.  That means if you believe for something but you aren't willing to take action for it, you don't really believe in what you say you do.

One of the reasons that so many black people were murdered for so many years is because supposedly moral people kept quiet and allowed it to go on and on.  We need more people to stand up and do something.

We are in a similar situation these days.  One by one, immoral people are trying to take God out of our country and replace him with their immoral behavior.  There are a lot of people who think it's wrong but they are doing anything.  They keep voting for people who are in favor of such immoral behavior simply because they've always voted for that party.  People aren't willing to really take a stand for what they say they believe.

As long as they keep silent, they have no one to blame for what happens but themselves.

whimsy
It's not very often that a human being comes along who has the courage, determination, and self worth/selflessness to consistently challenge the errors of our society.  I feel confident that many whites and blacks combined silently believed in and emotionally supported the efforts and actions of M.L.K.'s beliefs.  However, during that era, to PHYSICALLY DEMONSTRATE support for his issues was to go against the grain of status quo.  In essence, alot of people sat back and prayed for change instead of taking action.  Don't get me wrong.  I don't ridicule anyone for that!  M.L.K. just possessed that special something that doesn't come along everyday!  I wish he were still here!
