I AGREE...
But if the black person continues to focus on all of that instead of trying to get beyond it, they are limiting themselves and they are robbing the rest of us of knowing who they really are as people.  They are also robbing themselves of getting to know those of us who don't focus on someone's skin color.  I'm not saying that racism will go anywhere but as long as black people keep focusing on what's been done to them instead of working to get past it, they never will get past it.

As far as things being water under the bridge, I don't buy that.  I have gone through a whole lot of abuse and tragedy in my life but I learned a long time ago that if I didn't forgive and move on, that would control my life forever.

Black people need to focus on their own lives and quit looking to what happened before they were even born.  I am so tired of people referring to the time of slavery, etc.  It's over!  You can't change it and no one will ever be able to make it up to the black people.  No one can bring back my childhood and all of the years of abuse I went through either.  I had to accept it and move on.

Besides, I see a lot of black people who are doing quite well for themselves and that is mostly because they use their talents and their abilities and they go after their dream.

I realize that some of us will never know what you've been through but other people have been through worse.  You have to decide whether you are going to let it hold you back or if you're going to overcome it.

I'm not sure that a white person can ever fully understand the feelings, thoughts, emotions and needs of the black person.  There has been too much water under the bridge.
