You don't have to give them food or even let them know you are the one doing it. You could leave anonymous notes of encouragement. But if you never try to reach out, how will you ever know what their reaction might be. Has it ever occurred to you that maybe they are scared and just need someone to reach out and care about them? Don't let fear keep you from helping someone. You never know how reaching out just might change your life and theirs.

That's all really nice. To be really honest I can't see my neighbors appreciating any of that. They'd probably think that I were trying to poison them if I brought them food--people are just like that.
