A DAY OR SO IN MY LIFE! WHO CARES?

All of you saw in my last post that my husband's son had gone into recovery for alcohol abuse. I received many supportive comments, but there were a few that spoke of issues they did not understand. These two statements below appeared today. Never did either of the two boys who died or the one in recovery act in a public forum in such an 'Un Christian, non conservative or vulgar' manner as this man. When my husband and I met twenty four years ago he had three and i had two children. One of mine was already dead and alcohol had a lot to do with it. Our two middle children were sons both with the same names. Seven years later my middle son died and it was totally alcohol related. His son who was much younger than mine has just come out of the army. He was with the 82nd Airborne, a paratrooper. It has taken a toll on his total being. He is alcoholic. I am not one of those people who keeps all the addresses both in the e mail and in the physical address book. Some have another list with birthdays, anniversaries and the usual Christmas gift list. I am too discombobulated. If I see something someone would like no matter when it is I grab it and can't wait to give it to them, even if I had fully intended to give that to them for Christmas. Today I received a real gift. Oh nobody gave it to me I had ordered it; forgot all about it with all the commotion around here last couple of weeks. I have to tell you about it! Thanksgiving has not always been considered a National Holiday. I am blessed in that I have Thanksgiving daily. Never in my life has there been a day too dark to give thanks for something. All that aside some of us look to be with family. For some there are split families and one year the children will be with this parent and next year with that parent. It makes me wonder sometimes as I peruse the blogs on here. I see some of them are really helpful in that they make us laugh, they create a moment of softness before we jump up and get in someones face because we don't like their opinions. I see others that tell us what is going on in their lives, communities and the country for that matter. They want to invite us into their world at present. My grandfather was a story teller. I was the only grandchild that liked to listen to his tales of yore. I recently was entertained in much the same manner. This has been a week-end to end all weekends. Muser and Max have spoiled us to the limit. They showed up here late, very late in the night Friday and brought food enough for at least half Moses' camp. They insisted on making meals and spoiling us. I am often taken aback by other's responses to statements or situations based totally on the moment's emotions. If you have read me at all you know this. Other times responses are based on what one has always believed even if one has not examined the facts. Popular opinions have so much influence on what we do or do not believe and how we react to other beliefs. This has been a week of accusation, discussion and analysis for so many of us here on Blogit. Did we all come to the same conclusion? Of course not. Does that mean all but me or you were wrong? Has someone been expelled from Blogit simply because they do not agree with someone else? Has someone on here begun to get even with people. This is not a spot to use to get even with people who do not agree with you. Life is about differences of opinion the differences in people is what makes us individuals. Thank you for your comments. I have been having a few health problems again and don't stay on here very much or long at a time. I am trying to read your posts rather than answer your comments on my comments page. This too shall pass just a few weeks at a time when I am too tired to do anything. Birth pills are being given out to nine and up year old children without their parent's permission. How dare they? Oh it just gets worse. Next year beginning with the seven year olds they will be given opportunity to declare their sexual identity or preference. They will be able to explore each other's bodies and learn about sex. What do you think when you see someone call white black and black white on the TV and you know they know the difference. The answer makes a difference and still they continue. I do appreciate all your answers to my asking for a solution to the intricate problems of dying in another country (this one) if you are an illegal. I so appreciated your answers almost totally the same to one degree or another. We all have problems in this life but few of us are criminals asking others to do our bidding. Most if not all of us have had someone very near and dear to us die. It is a terrible thing to lose those you love and are not nearly to have a 'time's up'. In addition to that what if you had moved to a foreign country as had many of your friends and one of them died. You all were only going to be there through this project or whatever, but not forever. I seem to have been doing everything but blogging lately. Some of the things I have done do not really count as having done anything. Have you ever thought what it would be like to leave home going to the grocery store, spa wherever it is you go but you forget who you are, where you going and everything you have ever known?
