COMMON SENSE IS A MOST UNCOMMON COMMODITY

Rare as it is you would do better selling pork bellies and cotton than common sense today. There is no market for such. It appears to get in the way of progress or votes in some or most places. A little eight year old writes on his jacket and smells it. Wow what a criminal, throw him in the brig Captain. He may be a real danger. The order to suspend the child was a brilliant move. He is being sentenced to a life of mistrust. This is what the child received from his principal, the top dog in our... Sign in to see full entry.

WHAT IS YOUR CHURCH LIKE

I go to a strange church. Not strange like Obama's church. I am a United Methodist. For so many years I went to the Contemporary service at the First United Methodist in our town. The first churches have a reputation of being a bit snobby. I don't think ours was but we had a hard time getting those who really needed help to come. We opened another church in an old supermarket building as an outreach and went all out into programs, needy areas and wherever to let them know we would look at their... Sign in to see full entry.

WHEN IN DOUBT ~ JUST SCOFF

Have you ever experienced any sort of circumstance where you knew for sure what you saw, felt, or experienced was real, true and did in fact exist and others just scoffed if almost silently? There is a show on Discovery Medicine or one of those channels that is about impossible diagnoses. It seems sometimes the parents of a child sees, hears and knows there is something wrong with their child and the experts can't find it and they call the parents over anxious etc., sometimes for years before... A BALLOON CAN ONLY HOLD SO MUCH HOT AIR

Note: I see so much brokenness from all income levels of society I had to say something about a common denominator, dysfunction. johna “I just came from a dysfunctional home.” “Oh, yours or your neighbors?” Is there such a thing as a functional home? I think not. I have not seen the evidence of it. There is no clear description of such a thing. One type of family has all the right manners, the overt behavior in that household is wholesome. They have both social and business friends. The children... Sign in to see full entry.

Good Morning

The weather continues to be a problem. I am so sorry for all the pain and devastation caused people in several states from flooding. We have had five years of unusual natural disasters. It began with hurricanes, droughts, then forest fires, tornadoes, and now flooding and rain and rain. Thus far our immediate region has been spared all but the drought. I am thankful for that but at the same time I am sorry for what has happened to many others. My husband is a native of Miami and hurricanes are... Sign in to see full entry.

EXCUSE ME PLEASE, NO SILVER TRAY IN THE FOYER

I honestly don't know what to think about this new fangled sort of social behavior. Hi tech calling cards I do declare that is something else. It appears I was left in an embarrassing position; somewhat like being without funds to pay the ad valorem taxes after the Civil War. That is a story for another time I digress. I must continue on my way or I will forget where I am going. You see my particular sort of membership will not allow me the privilege of creating those computer generated and... NOT IN THE MOUTH~~BUT ON THE WALL HANGS THE SILVER SPOON

I have written on here about my time having developed foods products and natural bath lines. These were two separate companies and we wholesales them. We also had a couple of retail spaces where we sold the products. It was fall and we put together several baskets and wanted to promote them. Our little town has a yearly Fall event called The Taste of Our Town (town's name).George and I thought it would be good to enter it. Our idea was to make people aware of the baskets we were doing for the... Sign in to see full entry.

I DIDN'T KNOW THAT THEN

When I was 20, 30 even 40 I had no idea life would be as full when I reached 72 as it is now. I know first hand I reached that number a week or so ago. Oh sure you can't walk into a room in a designer outfit and have the whole room turn and look approvingly at you. You are more likely to walk into a room and fall over your own feet and have the whole room pretend not to look at you. Thinking of something to fill my first paragraph reminds me of an incident I try hard not to think of. It is one... Sign in to see full entry.

BLOGIT IS A NEW PLACE

Having been on here for four years and I have written at least one post most days until a couple of months ago. I was on reading if I wasn't writing. Now I have been out so long I don't recognize the names I see all over the place. I guess that is good but it is a lonely feeling too. I have truly missed those of you with whom I have established an Internet friendship.I feel as if I have come back from the dead. I am doing well today. The last two days have been pain free and I hope this goes for... Sign in to see full entry.

HAD I KNOWN THE RULES I WOULD HAVE AGED SLOWER

The Man Rules At last a guy has taken the time to write this all down Finally, the guys' side of the story. ( I must admit, it's pretty good.) We always hear " the rules " From the female side. Now here are the rules from the male side. These are our rules! Please note.. these are all numbered "1 " ON PURPOSE! 1. Men are NOT mind readers. 1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up, put it down. We need it up, you need it down. You don't hear us complaining... Sign in to see full entry.

SOME DAYS ARE TOO SHORT

Today was one of those days. I had not slept much last night. I had pain all night even after having taken the max of the medication I was allowed. I thought I would just get up and read etc., it was almost impossible to walk. Needless to say I was not bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning. I had an appointment to get my hair cut. I had to go to the doctor everything hurt and I had to go to a special meeting at church. Well after waiting everywhere night came before I was ready. The day was... Sign in to see full entry.

HOW TO SPEAK ABOUT WOMEN AND BE POLITICALLY CORRECT: 1. She is not a "BABE" or a "CHICK" - She is a "BREASTED AMERICAN." 2. She is not a "SCREAMER" or a "MOANER" - She is "VOCALLY APPRECIATIVE." 3. MY PAPER HAS A NEW NAME?

Never in my life did I think anything would take the place of the trash rag that inquiring minds seek daily! I believe it has happened. For the last few years I have watched as those who are supposed to tell us about the news make news for us. I think most of us see the Inquirer as that sort of thing. It is what it is. I remember a few years back well it may have been twenty come to think of it Ford jerked a knot in CBS' tail for building their own truck explosion to show the defect in their... OH THAT FEELS GOOD

I ran around reading a little, some I have never read, others are old wonderfully familiar ones. I don't have to leave my desk to read on religion, politics, poetry, fiction, humor and journaling about your lives. When for some or any reason I have to be away from Blogit I miss this. I particularly miss the people who do the writing. Most I have not even seen a photo of, but I know you. Each has such a different bent to their writing. I have noticed some of you have changed direction in your... Sign in to see full entry.

OH IS THAT RIGHT? VALENTINE IS!

WE WISH ALL OF YOU A HAPPY VALENTINE DAY FOR THE WHOLE OF 2008 Valentine is not about your sweetheart so much but it is about love, profound intent of love. I don't know the year but Claudius, Roman Emperor decided young people should not be married. It was a very permissive society and being chaste was not the reason but soldiers should not have a wife or family to be concerned about. He likely would not fight as valiantly for fear of dying and leaving a family destitute. The church which was... Sign in to see full entry.

I NEEDED TO SEE THIS. DO YOU?

This was in my devotional today and I thought it might interest you for yourselves or others you are around. Be blessed. Paul gives us some good advice on how to love one another in Romans 12:9-18. Love must be sincere. Cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal. Be joyful in hope. Be patient in affliction. Be faithful in prayer Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you. Rejoice... Sign in to see full entry.

THINGS THEY ARE A CHANGING

I miss all of you. I cannot write nearly as often as I would like. I have not been able to respond on my post to your comments but I try to get to all of you and comment on your posts. That is best anyway. You get credit on your post not on my comment back to you on mine. The part I miss most is the reading. I learned to develop a persona of you by what I read in your posts. Each has a flavor, a bent and a steadfast line past which you will not go or accept others crossing. This is unique I... Sign in to see full entry.

YOU INSPIRE ME

I can see all around me there are those who are writing like little bees bringing home nectar. Don't forget the ant such a busy character and a strategist too, so are you. I see many keeping several blogs daily. I did that once but I can't again. What makes a year such a short thing? When I was a little girl it seemed like two or three lifetimes between one Christmas and the next. Now I can have a couple of cups of good tea and here is Christmas again. This is not nostalgia talking. It is sounds... Sign in to see full entry.

WATCH OUT I'M BACK

I've had a renovation, or a recuperation or whatever I have slept almost three weeks and I am feeling good today so I came out to play. I see all these people who have been writing that I don't even know but like what they are writing. All there was on television was people killing people. People walking down the street getting killed where they don't even know it is a war zone. And men killing pregnant women all over the place. I had to think if I wanted to even get well. Yes, yes I do. Not all... Sign in to see full entry.
