It's all in the framing
Tradition has it that Adam and Eve, tempted by Satan-as-serpent, ate the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and so were cast out of the Paradise that was Eden. Hence, the doctrines of the Fall of Man and Original Sin are justified. I say, they were framed! How a thing is framed in assumptions of what's the truth behind and around that thing determines how it is understood: the truth of the matter is based on those particular assumptions which themselves are strengthened and made...
