I used to visit often, camera at the ready. The Deschutes River runs through, where Tumwater, the first American settlement began in the 1840s. The first mill was built there, and now the site is the abandoned brewery where Olympia Beer was made, and then Pabst. Below the last falls there is the old... Sign in to see full entry.
It's one of the best off-leash parks I've seen: wide open hillside, next to a forested creek with little trails through... I've shown it here before, in other seasons. Davy is a clown, of course... He will make you smile. The trees are entering their glory days, and the creek runs a long quietly... Sign in to see full entry.

I was visiting my daughters and families for a few weeks, was there when Sandy blew by without great effect on their houses, and some minor effects in the neighborhood. Sandy was saving it up for New Jersey. The Eastern... Sign in to see full entry.

Yesterday, strolling around the paths from one of the two main houses to the other, there were little eye-catchers everywhere! It took some doing to get to some actual history of this historic site: most articles are about Rock Ledge Ranch as a 'living museum' and tourist attraction. Even the sign... I plan to go back to take some other pictures showing the buildings and gardens of this historic site, but on this occasion there was only time for the... Sign in to see full entry.

And then...... Sign in to see full entry.
