Another day trip to New Zealand

Orakei Korako

For some reason, this place has been on my mind lately. It's a very busy thermal area near Lake Tapo, NZ. Throughout that region, one sees great stacks that look just like nuclear power plants, but are, in fact, thermal power plants. I never got a good shot of one, but this is the power they tap... Looking up

Colorado Springs is under a lot of commercial jet travel routes, and we often get quite dramatic shows of condensation trails interacting with sunlight, and with the winds at 30,000 feet altitude, and sometimes with each other. Dog Park in another season

It doesn't seem so long since we visited Bear Creek Dog Park, but today, the season's changes were more than evident. Of course there are pictures! Pueblo, Colorado

If you have heard of Pueblo, it is likely in relation to one federal government pamphlet or another, or some federal printing project. The golden season

That lovely maple outside my deck has made its move, from the lucious green of summer, to autumn gold. In a short time, maybe a week or two, a high wind will blow the gold away for another year, and the trees will all be reaching for the sky with bare dark limbs... Sydney

The wildfires in New South Wales have got me thinking about and remembering my brief visits to Sydney. Altogether, I have spent 5 days there, mostly by the waterfront, an area called The Rocks, if I remember a-right. There was a stroll over the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and a sight-seeing ferry ride...
