Reincarnation - The Early Christian Years

I'm re-reading an good friend's book (This Day in Paradise: Contemporary and Historical Evidence of Life After Death by Tim Ward)and thought I'd share some of the interesting things he found (and I found rummaging around the internet) on reincarnation - first of early Christian leaders: Here is what St. Augustine said as he pondered the sensibilities of reincarnation: Did I not live in another body, or somewhere else, before entering my mother’s womb?” - Confessions, I ch 6 And again: "The... The Sacred . . . Cockroach?

Sacred - Dedicated to or set apart for the worship of a deity. Worthy of religious veneration Veneration - Profound respect or reverence When most think of these words, they are in relation to specific objects normally associated with religion: sacred text; sacred buildings, sacred artifacts. Me, I think of roaches. Yes, they are disgusting. And no, I don’t like them in my house. But aren’t they amazing creatures? They can flatten out to about the diameter of a dime and can live without a head... Sign in to see full entry.

How Can Yeshua Be First With Life As Busy As It Is?

Can one live in today’s world, with all of the temptations chasing one down, with all of the “stuff” one collects, with all of the responsibilities one shoulders, and still grow spiritually? To a certain degree, I think the answer is yes. Many people are loving souls, who spend each day acting and being love, adding no negativity to the world, within the confines of their unique situations. And I think, with a little work, each of us can do the same. This is a major step on the ladder of... Sign in to see full entry.

"God" is Love; is "God" Light?

While I believe “God” is Love, is God light? I tend to think so. Love is energy; light is energy. It doesn’t seem like much of a stretch. There are many examples of "God" being light are found in many places in the New Testament. Many mystics and saints also speak of "God" as light. The following are examples from the New Testament: 1 John 1:5 - This is the message he has given us to announce to you: God is light and there is no darkness in him at all. John 1:4–9 - Life itself was in him, and... Sign in to see full entry.

"It's God's Will" - It Should Be Our Will Too

I’m reading an interesting book right now on one’s will and though I’m only partially through the book, it has brought up a very interesting point. The gist is that one of the major problems in our world today is the split of wills: God’s will versus our will. Many today see two distinct, separate wills. The will of God, and our individual wills. But this book argues, and I think it makes a good point, that there is no such thing as two separate wills. God’s will is our will. It is very similar... We Have a Responsibility to Create a World that "God" Would be Proud of.

In quantum mechanics, light is seen as wave-like or in particle packets, depending on what the observer looking at the light source is looking for. This means that light can be both wave-like or in packets; this also means that the observer creates his or her reality. If the observer wants light to be wave-like then the observer creates the reality that includes light being wave-like. If the observer wants light to be in packets, that's what is created and observed. This is a pretty profound... Sign in to see full entry.

An Allegory - The Last Part

It had been four days since he had last seen the dove. It had been an incredibly rough four days. His food was pilfered one night while he slept, by who or what he did not know. He had eaten only what plants and cacti he came across that he was sure were edible. His water had run out the day before because the creek he had been told crossed his path did, but was dry. The cloth from his survival kit that he had stretched out on the ground the night before to collect dew had only collected dust.... Sign in to see full entry.

An Allegory - The Middle Part

Night in this forsaken place is the polar opposite of day. No light, and bitterly cold; a difficult place to sleep, as he had found out. He lay on his back awake, his eyes closed from the pain, not for sleep. The toe on his right foot throbbed. He had pulled out all of the small thorns he could find, using a cotton ball from his survival kit to catch the burs so he could see them. But he was certain that he had not found them all. He was sure he felt them burrowing farther into his flesh,... Sign in to see full entry.

An Allegory

As he walked, the sun beat down on him with the intensity of a blast oven. He had left himself behind and started this journey on a whim. And while he liked to walk with his head up, looking forward to enjoy what lay ahead, the plethora of cacti in his path blocked his way, forcing him to look down to watch his step. Though he tried to be careful, a cactus needle would occasionally find its way into his sandled feet. Walking slowly, he tried to make sense of the thoughts floating around in his... There is No Angry, Jealous, Vengeful "God"

“God” is Love. And it is the only emotion that we share with “God”. Any other emotion attributed to “God” is a human emotion. There is no Angry “God”. There is no Jealous “God”. There is no Vengeful “God”. There is just “God”/Love. If one does believe that “God” is a vengeful, jealous or angry “God” one is projecting human emotions onto divinity. This happens quite often because this is what we as humans do. This is the Ego in action. Any feeling that we have is projected onto others, human or... Sign in to see full entry.
