If I am to ever get close to reunification with the divine, then I must die each day. St. Paul said he died daily (1 Cor. 15:31). I take this to mean that upon awakening each day, he would need to meditate/pray to bring forth (or keep) his true self, thus “killing” his false self. Like one who awakens each morning from the unconsciousness of sleep to the consciousness of life, one must awaken from the unconsciousness of the false self to the consciousness of the soul, the true self. I’m one of those people who never sees a problem as a problem. I see them as opportunities. I’ve always been that way – a very positive kind of person for the most part. I came across a maxim recently that I first read many years ago. And it is one that I think is important to discuss. There are things that I know that I have no idea how I know, but I do. Like the concept that love is “God”. This I know. Every fiber of my being knows this. I rode my motorcycle for the first time today since seeing that fatal motorcycle accident last week end. It was a struggle to climb on this morning after a night of tossing and turning, my ego constantly reminding me of the accident and how dangerous riding in a major metropolitan area can be.
