When there are a lot more yesterdays than there are tomorrows, it comes as a shock to realize and accept this, as a fact. People tell us that 45 to 50 years of age is about middle age. We fool ourselves into believing that we will live to be 90 to 100 but deep down we know better. In the early part of humankind’s existence on earth the average lifespan was about 35 years of life, if they were lucky. I am now 62 years old, and counting. There are many, many things left undone and unseen and... Sign in to see full entry.
Suffering for my passion, but it does have great rewards, too.
Opening day of the rifle season for deer season in Michigan, is on November 15 th. I hunt from an elevated tree stand and as it turned out, the day dawned to temperatures in the high 20’s with 40 to 50 mph winds! The wind-chill factor 25 feet off ground level must have been in artic temperature range. I lasted less than three hours before it became necessary to climb back down and walk the 300 or so yards back to the house to warm up and add more layers of clothing and woolen mitts to return to... The Butterfly Position experiment for fantastic SEX! A reposting
The butterfly position experiment A night or two ago I wrote a new aquaintance that the only way I thought people were going to click on my submissions would be I began with a trick title like, "The Pope's secret love children!" Or,'The Butterfly Position,' for FANTASTIC SEX!" Foutunately for us all, I would never stoop to such tactics! I have stayed in touch with my best friend with whom I attended school, many years ago. Recently while we talked about his health problems, I couldn’t resist... Sign in to see full entry.

My notorious "Bullet hole shirt."
As happens to us all occasionally, my life is going through a turbulent patch lately. I have little time or inclination to compose and post so I'll fall back on another well received posting from the past. Given the high turnover of readers and writers in this blog-site, it will likely be new to most readers. I hope you enjoy it. To those few whom are long-time members and have already read it, I offer my appologies. Lost skills or just plain laziness. You decide! One day at work, I wore what... Sign in to see full entry.

Our differences can and should bring us together, not divide us!
What motivates those who espouse hatred, prejudice, elitism, racial and religious hatred, and the feeling that “ we ” are better than “ they?” I can see some of the motivating factors that are behind these people and they all appear to be ugly human traits that would be better forgotten and repudiated. Other motivations escape me and this is probably obscuration, by design. My last blog was intended to be humorous and as far as I know, this is how it was received. Soul Builder 101 and Afzal 50... A reposting of an early composition that I'm pleased that I wrote
One explanation of why people call me.....what they call me. I recently sent my sister an email that closely resembled this, as closely as I can recall: Terry, Your mail to me today, demonstrates the biggest problem we popular advisors run into everyday, misquotes and misinterpretation of what we said. You said that I was comparing myself with the Dahli Lama. If you take the time to re-read my mail to you, you’ll see that I was recounting a conversation between he and I, in which he was... I feel like I rode to school in a covered wagon. I'm an antique!
Last evening I was helping little D.J. with his first grade homework and I was shocked to see the difference between his education and the one I got, way back in the “olden days.” My first grade experience involved things like, learning the difference between left and right, colors, the alphabet, how to zip up my coat and buckle up my rubber pullover boots and how to use scissors. Now first graders are learning the difference between mammals, reptiles, amphibians, marsupials, simple math,... Sign in to see full entry.

What is left for us to look forward to, if we don't die young?
I just woke up from a dream in which I had just been awarded thirty-five million dollars! I don’t recall how this occurred because I never buy lottery tickets. I can’t afford to even pay attention and wouldn’t waste money on a ticket even if I could afford to. The rationale that, “ Somebody has to win and why shouldn’t it be you?” has ruined many, many lives but it won’t ruin mine. When it comes to ruining my life, I don’t need the help of a state lottery commission, I can do that all by myself.... Sign in to see full entry.

The writers have struck. Turning ink into gold! An opportunity for us all!
Since there is a writer’s strike going on now, I wonder if this is the time that I should re-submit my manuscript for a new concept, adventure-thriller weekly hour-long program I have tentatively titled, “25.” It is about one day and one hour, in which a super-secret government agency fights various terrorists and rogue double agents that plan to do really BAD things to our country. This seems to be the right time to re-submit my script because I suspect that some insignificant but beautiful,... Sign in to see full entry.

I wonder if there is still room in Dog Chapman's doghouse for one more!
Yesterday, I was watching TV and a commercial came on that said, “Afraid to show your face?” An attractive woman looked around whatever she was standing behind and said, “Not me!” I mumbled, “Nice face. Now show us your…” “ GUY! There are small, innocent CHILDREN present and they hang on your every word!” (This from Marilyn.) I quickly said, “ FEET! I was about to say feet!” She claims to have a hearing problem but I know better. She is trying to trick me into saying what I’m actually thinking.... Sign in to see full entry.
