I finally am back among the writers and readers of blogit, folks. After only twenty-TWO days, (!) my renters moved out of my house without notice, my computer now runs on Microsoft XP, Word has been recovered and many, many things are different, now. My father died last night, and I am numb with shock and grief, and realizing just how different my world will always be, without my father in it. People in my family live our lives separately, and communicate sporadically, seldom gathering together,... Sign in to see full entry.

A brief goodbye, from the Sage! As Arnie said, "I'll be baaack!"
I am taking my old, old, old decrepit computer to a friend who knows how to perform surgery on them, so he can take the hard drive out of it, (!) and put it into my much newer, faster, more modern computer, in the space under IT'S fast, modern hard drive, giving me access to all my passwords, and programs, etc. thereby lifting me out of the dark, dank, cob-webby, (cob-webby?!!) twentieth century, into the light of the twenty-FIRST century! The sight of computer blood and wiring, makes me queasy.... Sign in to see full entry.

National "Take your kids to work" day. Another big disappointment!
This is national take the bra......kids to work week. I happily volunteered to take Ivy and D.J. to work with me, today. I think that Marilyn smelled a rat, because she knows that I can never shut the door behind them after they leave for school, soon enough for me. She said to me, " You do realize that when you come home after work, you will have to bring them BACK with you, don't you?" I put on my most innocent face and said, "Aw crap, (or a similar word) I figured there would be a catch to... Sign in to see full entry.

The naming of a new "Wonder Drug!" How do they come up with a name?
Have you also wondered how the pharmaceutical companies name the drugs that they put on the market, who names them, and what criteria they use when picking a name? I imagine that a committee of employees holds a brainstorming session, before coming up with a name. Committees may not be the best choice, for coming up with an answer to most important decisions. I think that committees designed the elephant, moose, camel, dugong, ostrich, platypus and the giraffe! I could have done better, all by... Sign in to see full entry.

A picture of me, if you have ever wondered what I look like!
Hey Everyone! I have finally found a photo of myself that is in focus, and doesn't make me look like a derelict! Not easy to do both things, in the same picture. I often think that people wish that they had a mental picture of what the person looks like, that they are reading, I know that I do. If this posts successfully, I just might post a few other photos in subsequent postings. At work, I confided that I was going to try to show my friends on blogit, what the ol' sage looks like, and they... Sign in to see full entry.

Meeting Progressive Insurance Company's "Flo," face-to-face! A BIG mistake!
I happened to be passing the Progressive Insurance Store the other day, and went inside, out of curiosity. As I expected, Flo sat behind the counter, filing her nails and checking her makeup in her desk mounted mirror. She looked up and admitted to having noticed my presence, eventually. I saw no spark of recognition of my identity, so I furtively assumed the persona of a prospective customer, to experience her sales pitch, personally. I told her that I had seen their ad about the guy who was... Sign in to see full entry.

This says SO much more than Blogit's "Favorite People" list!
Fellow bloggers, With almost half of the month left, I decided to look at a the listing of who I read, and how often. Although this month, my writing was briefly interrupted, I read other bloggers, daily. With my limited time for commenting to many writers, I hope that this list will encourage those who I like, to write more of what I search for. Thanks to you all, and keep up the good work! Reminising, living and learning. It's true! You learn something, EVERY day!
In this week's Arenac Independent, they are discussing the possibility of having kindergardeners attend school five days a week, all day long, like the other grade school children. I would bet that the kindergardener's parents are behind this initiative, because they want to get the nasty little curtain-climbers out of the house and in school, for as long as is possible, if not longer. When I was in kindergarden, they made us take a nap each afternoon, on a little rug, on the floor, just like a... Sign in to see full entry.

Chad Carpenter, as good or BETTER than Gary Larsen! My new favorite!
This cartoonist has original artwork for sale. Google him to see more of his inspired work, and if unlike me, you have disposable income, BUY some! I predict that it will become more valuable than baseball cards, stamp collecting, muscle cars, maybe even picasso! We ALL know broken and damaged people! Expect their numbers to grow fast!
Damaged and broken people seem to be everywhere nowadays, and it seems that their numbers are growing more numerous all the time. Is this due to poor parenting, environmental degradation, ozone layer damage and the resulting radiation exposure, buckling under the pressure of the escalating pace of our everyday lives, demands to make us all do more with less, or the failure of our educational system? I believe that our problems are the result of a combination of many things, including but not... Sign in to see full entry.
