Saturday Night

I don't miss the drink, as it was killing me. But I do miss Saturday nights. Going out and participating in life. The ritual of getting ready and waiting to see what was going to happen. You were always overcome with that wonderful feeling, that anything might happen. What sort of girl you might bump into, and what sort of croud you would get involved with, were all part of the magic. While you were getting ready, you felt nothing mattered, and every problem could be overcome. To that end, I... Sign in to see full entry.

Population

I saw a thing on Channel 4 news last night, about population explosion. They gave the usual hysterical nonsence about the great masses about to overrun us, but one thing struck me. You never hear the Sci-Fi solutions to population growth now. Back in the 70's you had plenty of ideas about new cities in the desert and domed cities in the artic, and all the rest. No more. We seam resigned to just letting the problem get on top of us. My favourite is the thought of branching out into space! What... Sign in to see full entry.

Ebay or Ebay?

After a kind post by: mycml56, I realise I may have left the impression that my writing was for sale on Ebay. If only that was the case. No, we sell second hand books on ebay, under the name Tamdemz, our company is www.TinwellBooks.com I once did try and sell an e-book called Summer lawns, which was a science fiction/fantasy thing, about a girl who ges caught up in a Maze. It transported her across time, to escape the Civil War, to try and live in the modern world. Enjoyed writing it, but it had... Sign in to see full entry.

Free access-Google-free!

Watched a guy on Newsnight last night, saying that Google is one of the last places you can get free information. The good stuff, you now have to pay for. I can say this is true. Looked at a new site for accessing war records, from the BBC web site. You get so far but eventually have to pay! Fare enough, if you can't make money from the Web, what the hell are we all doing here? We don't give our books away on Ebay! But he's right, in that the web is shrinking more each day. If you type in the... Sign in to see full entry.

Lost in space

Sorry to anyone who watches this page and wonders where the hell I am. Got caught up in putting book on Ebay. Load of cookery book at the moment. As for life.......! Little has happened. Finally made my mind up to concentrait on the novel and not waist my life trying to write magazine articles. You can get published, and even make some money. But who cares? I don't! And I would not care about the stuff I was writting. Not fare all round. No stick it out and hope the Lottery novel comes through.... Sign in to see full entry.

WW1

I was reading in the Indie the other day, about the old soldiers who survived the first big war. Funny thing is, would they get the same support today? Would people turn out in their thousands to march to their deaths in the same way? I don't thing so. So what has changed? People are no smarter or stupid now, than then. So what has changed? I think TV has made the difference. We are better informed. Informed of a world where there is more to it, than dieing for an abstract cause. This village of... Sign in to see full entry.

Ebay

One thing has just accoured to us. that it is better to sell in bulk on ebay than a few books at a time. a huge parcel with 20 odd books in it might only retail at 50p a book, but at least you get your money back quick. If this kicks off, I'm toying with the idea of going back to help the aged. At least we could shift the books quickly there. Little else happening. Strange dreams, but some good ideas on the magical front. Writing articles appeals to me as a very good idea. What subject to pick?... Sign in to see full entry.

the future?

when I think about the future what do I see? I don't see myself selling books on ebay for ever more. sure it pays some of the bills(for now), but it won't last for ever. The money isn't fantastic and I'm getting fed up with it all. I started all this to write, and to make money writing and little else. Now I'm stuck in this rut and I can't get out. took at look at some of my old haunts on the web, and some of the writing sites. Of course this led to the next stage in the story: what if I went... Writing Articles

I've revived an old idea about making money from writing. Basicly I can only make money through my own efforts, because I have no capital left. there are plenty of good ideas for making money on the net(look at Ebay!) but you need some capital to invest in them. Buy stock ect. Now we have the book business, but it is too slow and needs a lot of investment to start off with. A book can only cost you 15 pence for 10 days, but mulitply that by 6,000 and you need to sell a hell of a lot of books in... Sign in to see full entry.
