We might be facing the big one, but will keep going all the same. What gets me, is that within 12 months I could be free of it all. If anyhting happned to G I think I would do it at the drop of a hat. But we are here now and must keep going. One of the most depressing things you will ever see, is the sight of people trying to sell their junk at Car boot sales. Do they honestly think people will buy that rubbish? Old toys; broken ornaments and pieces of machines that probably never worked in the first place. The novel is coming slowly along, thinking about putting some of it back online. We will pay dealy for all this rain. The crops are just laying in the firlds, and rotting. Thanks to the common Ag' policy and the EU, the way the farmers get paid is crazy. One of the problems I have with writing the new novel, is that I never get any time to actually put the dam words down. I've tried free hand writing with the old fashioned pen and paper. But not only is this slow and painful, my inspiration just doesn not come out. I find myself thinking about writing and not putting down the story. when I sit at this key board, the words just flow on their own. I don't have to give it any thought. Heared on the radio, that some right wing Americans thought that there was no such thing as global warming, because God would not let it happen! Can you beleive someone would come out with a thing like that? In a way the race deserves what it gets, but we are on the receiving end, and see it a little differently. I don't miss the drink, as it was killing me. But I do miss Saturday nights. Going out and participating in life. The ritual of getting ready and waiting to see what was going to happen. You were always overcome with that wonderful feeling, that anything might happen. What sort of girl you might bump into, and what sort of croud you would get involved with, were all part of the magic. I saw a thing on Channel 4 news last night, about population explosion. They gave the usual hysterical nonsence about the great masses about to overrun us, but one thing struck me. You never hear the Sci-Fi solutions to population growth now. Back in the 70's you had plenty of ideas about new cities in the desert and domed cities in the artic, and all the rest. No more.
