Wheelbarrow hell!

Some good news balanced by some bad. My friend George is stable in hospital. They moved him to the near by Stamford hospital, in the Van Gueest wing. He seems to be bearing up, but I fear for the his future. When you smoke a packet a day for 60 years, you can’t expect to shrug it off! We have got to do some hard thinking over the next few weeks. If it was up to me I would throw the whole house over to my Mother and let her worry about the bills. But I’m lumbered with 2 cats and she now has a... Sign in to see full entry.

Life goes on

Funny old day. My friend George is stable in hospital, but this attack has nocked him back a bit. Hope to come out soon, but we have to find out what’s really wrong with him first. Sorry to hear about those poor miners. They are few pits left in this country, and none that are deep or dangerous. Open casting is the only coal industry here, and what with the cleaner coal burning machine, they might even make a come back. If Mr Putin switches off the gas, and nuclear is our only alternative, they... Sign in to see full entry.

My friend George is as well as can be expected. Stable in hospital. Parking has doubled in the hospital car park. That’s when you can find one! After having packed the huge pile of book we have sold on ebay over Christmas, I now have to think of a way of paying for them. Sure the postage was covered in the price, but once we had the money we spent it on other things. Some big decisions coming up over the next few months. Steve UK Sign in to see full entry.

a new start???

A new year and new problems. My friend George has been admitted to Peterborough District Hospital. If it isn’t enough he has lung cancer, he never really recovered from an operation before Christmas, and on top of catching a sever cold, this morning he was in a poor state. So after the pantomime that now goes for ringing for an ambulance, we got a full paramedic Team out here. I now have the task of trying to find visiting hours, and actually getting there. I might sound ungrateful and selfish,... Sign in to see full entry.

Happy new year!

Hi, this is a just a note to make sure this blogg doesn’t run dry. I hope to fill thing sup a lot more in the new year. Lots of plans. Part 2 of the novel is underway, so I hope for comments on that. The bad news that my friend George has got lung cancer, means I will have to register as hid full time career, but on the good side, if I get the benefits I can carry on living in my house! This means changes to ebay, as I don’t want to get caught out. If you are looking for any sort of writing job,... Sign in to see full entry.

Publishing! A POD site for Bloggers

Lulu.com Just found a wonderful site for ebooks on POD. Its called www.Lulu.com Up till now it seems Ok. Usual POD stuff, but they offer a huge amount of marketing services. The usual proof-reading services but what looks to me like real press release. If you have the money to throw at it all well and good. Steve UK Sign in to see full entry.

Tags After have had my first experience with a site asking for freelance work, I have mixed views on the subject. Sure, I think it can make money, but not with idiots like this. I was asked to write a brief piece on student loans. Now keep in mind that I’m on the other side of the Atlantic, so I had to make it up from articles I found on Google. But I put something together. I found out that the market is changing because the US government want to cut billions from the budget. Fine After putting... Sign in to see full entry.

A Good start? Freelancing

A Good start? Sent off dozens of inquiries with a mocked up CV today. I’m pinning all my hopes on the content of the web site to save me. www.tinwellbooks.co.uk That should speak for me. You get that feeling that no one is going to take any damn notice of all this hard work, but you have to try. Up till now, they are all for the US, so I will have to wing it, as far as content goes. But www.freelancewriting.com is the best site yet for work. Steve UK Sign in to see full entry.
