Good article in the Independent today about novel writers. They say you might have to struggle on only £20,000 a year! What a terrible thing. Seeing as this is about ten times what I’m living on now, I think I can make a go of that. One thing that did stick in my throat was the fact that publishers want a stack of novels waiting in the wings. Anyone who had been reading these bloggs will know that I am a one trick pony, and only have one manuscript worth anything. So what would the second great... Sign in to see full entry.

With things getting underway, I’m a little more buoyant about life than I was. Torn still between full time web design and article writing, I’ve decided to try both in an attempt to see which one brings in the cash. Honesty is the best policy so I want to try out the government resources to test the water. There is no way I will get a decent job at my age unless I work for myself. If I can just pull in a bit of part time money I can have a crack at things. Steve UK Sign in to see full entry.

Guilty conscience
Guilty conscience Have you ever had one of those days when you know you should be getting one with really important work, and yet you waste the hours away? I have hundreds of books to go on Ebay, and so many articles to write you would not believe it. And yet the news over the last few days has been so bad, I just can’t bring myself to do anything constructive. I’ve even let the blogg site slip by not posting many jobs up. Of course this brings on the new dilemma that I want to pay for the... Sign in to see full entry.

Big Changes
Big Changes There are big changes afoot. I have a job interview on Friday as a rep selling burglar alarms. Not much of a job accept it might give me the kick I need to join the real world. The money is insanely good. And it’s the excuse I need to get back into life. All my stars have lead me up to this point for the month, so I don’t see much of a problem. Only it all seems too good to be true. Will it happen? Also I now find that I only need to rudiments of programming skills to get a job with... Sign in to see full entry.

Just as one door closes behind me another slams in my face.
Just as one door closes behind me another slams in my face. No sooner have I got rid of 5,000 books piled up in my house, than the next bomb shell explodes on my door step. The landlord now wants to put my rent up. I shall meet them half way, but I now have to go through the pantomime of threatening a rent tribunal if they don’t carry out work to the property. I could really do without this, as things don’t seem to be settling down. Steve Sign in to see full entry.

Get rich quick? When ?
A new money making scheme that has just come to me is to try and get more people to my Ebay site. The only thing you can do is put something up everyone wants. Hence the free porno photos that people put along side their pyramid schemes. They are all scams and people hate them But if you ever look at my Writers Wanted Paying Markets blogg, you will see that I make a genuine effort to try and offer people a service. So I wonder if I could get away with putting that up on Ebay? Simply pasting it... Sign in to see full entry.

AOL Ethernet!!!
AOL!!! Just received the upgrade version of AOL broadband: Platinum. The first thing I’ve found is that this computer I’m working on now, is not good enough to do it. It needs a whole new generation of a device called an ethernet. At first I panicked and thought we were back in the stone age. But because I have 2 computer (and old one and a new one) my eye was drawn to a little diagram on the back, which turned out to be the ethernet connection. I could get my head around the old USB ports, but... Sign in to see full entry.

Little Boxes
Living in a house full of boxes, I now have to wait until tomorrow for the guy to turn up with the truck to buy all my old Ebay stock. At least he does want it. I’m giving him the books first and asking for payment after. Now before you scream: "Fool!" I must point out that we did this once before and the guy threw a fit. We ended up giving him most of the money back, as he was not happy with the quality. Of course it was just a scam to get free books, but unless you have a team of lawyers... The cold war
I wish I could shake off this cold. It just won’t leave me, and its starting to run me down emotionally. The sun is shinning like the first day of spring but I feel rotten. I’ve had the damn thing for four weeks now, and thank God I had the flu jab else I’d be in a hospital bed by now. This cartoon nonsense seems to be rolling on. The sad iron is that these are the same people who run down Christianity and the Royal family. Nothing is of any value to them. Political correctness is like a new... Sign in to see full entry.

Clearing out the old.
Well I’m well on my way to clearing out my old stock of book. Ebay hasn’t worked and I’m selling up. 5,000 decent books are going for £500! It’s the only way. With my mum moving back into the house, I’ve got to make some sacrifices and make some space. Since the death of my friend George, I’ve had to face up to the fact that I would lose my home if I didn’t do something. So this seems the only way. Things are not as bad as they were a few weeks ago, when the world fell in, but we are getting... Sign in to see full entry.
