When I was in middle school and high school, semester exams occurred in January while in college, they occurred in December. I did not have a preference for a month. That Was Painful
Each year in gym class, we were required to take part in different activities for the Presidential Fitness Test. Freshman year, I was horrible with it. Nothing Schoolwide
When I was in college, we did not have any schoolwide fundraisers like we did during the K-12 school years. I imagine the reasoning was because the Loyola College, where I went to college, got plenty of donations. Besides, with kids living on campus, we would have saturated the market were we to go... Professional Development Days
One benefit of public school days I found was professional development days. About once a month, students would receive a holiday while teachers held seminars in order to improve their craft and have meetings. I always enjoyed those days chilling out.
