Geometry and Chemistry

Fall 2002. Geometry and Chemistry quickly became sore subjects for me. I was doing horribly in both. It was bad test after bad test—Ds and Fs piling up. Patchworks

My recent bout with strep reminded me of my school days. The close quarters meant that when someone got sick, it spread quickly. Teachers would end up teaching patchworks of students. How Many Planes?

I've been away due to strep. I am feeling better. September 2002. During a geometry review, Mr. Hanks asked me a question that, on the surface, seems like one I should have forgotten: How many geometric planes are there? The Best Thing About a Snow Day

When I was in school, my favorite part of a snow day was sleeping in. For most of my school years, I was up around 6 a.m., so being able to wake up much later—usually around nine—felt like a luxury.
