Figure it's time I add a face to the all the tales

My Soldier. He is slouching and his pants are loose on him...seems he is losing weight. NO that belly is not really there, it only shows like that when he slouches! Now tell me how adorable he is! Sign in to see full entry.

A Wonderful Day

My body aches from spending the night on a too soft mattress...ugh who ever came up with those awful things? My legs and feet ache from being on them all day and I have a slight sunburn and I feel GREAT! We raised $3200.00 for my soldiers today. This leaves us just about 1000 shy of the amount we... Are We Really That Self Centered?

WARNING: Rant ahead!!!!! This morning I woke up and went outside to work in my yard for a bit. I didn't turn on the radio, the computer or the TV, so it wasn't until around 11 AM or so that I became aware that London had suffered a horrible blow today. I came here to find suggestions of photgraphing... Sign in to see full entry.

His Name Was Michael Wayne Hanks

He was 22 years old and a Lance Corporal in the Marines. He lived right up the road from me though I don't believe I ever met him. I met his mother and his 4 year old sister. Michael was killed in action in the Anbar Province on November 17, 2004. I know very little about this young man. I know he... Sign in to see full entry.

The t-shirts she speaks of are ones that he designed and had printed on his own to help raise funds to get laptops to 25 soldiers that... Sign in to see full entry.

Letter to my soldier

This is the letter I wrote to my husband. Another one that will never be sent. Hi Honey, Well it seems another holiday is here and you are still there. I can't imagine what it feels like for you to be so far away on a day that had always been our biggest day of the year together. It's Independence... Sign in to see full entry.

I need your help to bring the 4th of July to some soldiers.

OK folks! Obviously I spend way too much time with myself and not enough time with other humans other than here. Reading Offbeat's post today about the events in her town I had an idea. I like to find things that are different for my soldiers versus the same old stuff such as cards and stale... Sign in to see full entry.

Meet My Soldier

I realize that not everyone agrees with the war and honestly, that is OK. You are more than entitled to your feelings. To be honest I don't have the knowledge to know for sure how I feel beyond the way it touches me personally. What I want to do here is introduce you to the most personal part of...
