Nancy,

We are just ordinary people living under extrodinary circumstances.  We all deal with what we are handed, no different than you.

Dirk,

My apologies for not thanking you sooner for your comments, it's been a crazy weekend and somehow I missed your beautiful comments.

I am guessing your wife knew she was deeply loved...that is the finest gift you can give to anyone in this life.

You caught me in the heart.  Your husband is a hero in the true sense of the word.  And so are you.

Military,
Your post brought tears to my eyes, in the same way as when someone is speaking about my late wife. Forgive me for this thought but I feel president Bush has sent your soldiers to Iraq, to acomplish a certain mission, but not to be able to know when this mission will end and how it will end, must give them all a feeling of entrapment.
Take care.

Dirk

Military

I noticed in your respone to passionflower that you are looking for photos to send to the soldiers.  May I contribute?

I think your sending the DVD Photo Album is a beautiful idea.  I would be happy to sent smiles and greetings your way!

Thank you so very, very much.  There was time in my life where people still talked about what they were doing the Kennedy died or when Regan was shot....now those are forgotten days and we all know exactly where we were and what we were doing the moment we heard the news on 911.  I pray our children never have a moment that they must look back on like this one.

Military Wife..............................................................

As I got to the part of your post where you described 9/11 I felt a chill come over my body.  And I do not joke when I tell you I'm still goosebumped.  I turned the television on at the very same moment as you and saw the second plane hit.  I could see the plain coming, but thought it might've been a helicopter circiling to report the events, but then the explosion came...and the world stopped for days.

Fast forward to March 19th and our entry into the war...I spent the eve of my birthday (the 18th) knowing that when I woke up the world would stop again.  Things would change.  I knew what was coming for people like you and I wept for many of you and still do.  I can't honestly say how I feel about the war, either.  I know what initial intentions may have been (WMD), but not sure why we're still there.  I quit listening when I could (occasionally, I am caught offguard by the news) because the devasation to both the innocent of Iraq and to the soldiers was/is devastating to me.  I do know that I ache for people in your position.  It's all I know how to do.  The aching makes me hate that we're still there.  And I just wanted to tell you that I don't know you, I don't know many of you, but I think of you and pray for you often.
