Just had our first game of Scrabble of Christmas

Susan and I love playing Scrabble and so do Claire and Christian. In fact Claire is quite brilliant it. Susan and I have always played the game, since our courting days, and Christmas gives us time to play more often. we just played our first game of Christmas 2010 and I'm pleased to report a narrow... Cleaning

I went to the village butchers this morning to buy a piece of beef and some mince for a chilli this morning. He's a lovely old fellow - one of the few traditional butchers remaining in the area and consequently people come form all over this side of the county to get their meat from him. His shop is... Winding down

We're all winding down a bit this week. Susan has been decanting costumes from last weekend's show to washing machine, then dryer and then into their correct bags for the January shows. I've been working on client business and was in the London office on Tuesday. Everyone there was gearing up for... Sign in to see full entry.

A Good Show

Hello everyone and sorry not to have written since Friday. Thanks for all of your positive thoughts about Susan's show this weekend - they must have worked because everything went really well. It was as hectic as usual, not helped by me early on Saturday morning. We had hired a van to move costumes... Sign in to see full entry.

Rehearsals going well

We spent most of yesterday afternoon and evening at rehearsals for Susan' show. I think it's all going well. The babies (some are as young as two) try so very hard whereas some of the teenagers really can't be bothered and obviously consider the whole thing 'uncool.' When they come out the other... Logging off

I've been busy again today but now logged off having completed the three contracted days per week for my main client. I'll log in again tomorrow and Friday just to check e-mail and I suppose I'm always on standby via the mobile 'phone but for consultancy rather than crisis management as used to be... Ice

I think we've got off fairly lightly in East Anglia so far this winter. All of our snow has disappeared but I've been hearing of hundreds of people trapped in parts of Scotland and other areas on news bulletins throughout the day. It is at times like this that I definitely prefer to work from home... Sign in to see full entry.

Thanks and feeling better

Thanks for all your kind and supportive comments yesterday. Ivan arrived home at about 5.00 and I burst into tears. I think it was knowing he was driving up from Surrey on icy motorways that was pulling me down but I just couldn't put my finger on it when I posted yesterday. He is a very cautious... A bit jaded

Feeling a bit worse for wear today. Mentally I feel quite awake but physically tired and lethargic. I wonder if it isn't just the adrenaline kick from Susan's show rehearsal yesterday that has worn off? I've had a bit of a headache for days and Susan has too so maybe we have something attacking... Rehearsals

Susan's ballet school ( Samara ) is running a show next weekend and then again in January. Next week's will be in Downham Market in Norfolk and we've spent much of the day up there rehearsing. When I say 'we' I obviously mean Susan and, increasingly, Claire. I took a few photographs, made lots of... Sign in to see full entry.
