I won and lost

Continuing on from yesterday's post, I didn't manage to arrange for Christian to win at Canasta because the cards kept falling my way... We then both watched the Leeds United v Cardiff City football match on TV and Leeds lost 4.0 so guilty pleasure over my Monopoly/Canasta victories was quickly... Sign in to see full entry.

Sweet sixteen

Christian is sixteen years old today and, after the tension caused by the weekend's wedding it's great that we are back in our own home again and trying to make it a special day for him. Unfortunately he played for his football team yesterday and his back is really sore today as a result so he's... Sign in to see full entry.

Why do I feel second best?

We all went up to Derbyshire this weekend for my nephew's wedding. My sister has four sons and this was the second to get married. Four years ago the eldest was married in a ceremony which was very preachy and where lots of the congregation held their hands as high as they could in religious... Sign in to see full entry.

Searching on Google

We had a lovely family day yesterday. Susan and I pottered about all morning with coffee and music and finally bacon and eggs. In the afternoon I took Christian to his football match. His back lasted better this time and wasn't quite so seized up afterwards. We're going to the Physio in Newmarket... Sign in to see full entry.

Sunny Saturday

Actually it's been sunny but also showery in Eastern England today. The weather is more akin to April than October but, though we're heading into winter rather than out of it, I do feel warm inside. Susan and I went into Cambridge this morning to do some shopping and bought her a lovely new dress... Sign in to see full entry.

Nourishing yin

Firstly, thanks very much for all your comments on my last blog. It seems that some people like to listen to music while writing and for others it interrupts the flow. I have to say it can work either way for me and, rather than changing my mood, it enhances it. If I'm having problems concentrating,... Sign in to see full entry.

Music and me

I really love music and have actually started to listen to it much more since working for myself. Two reasons why I listened less during the daytime were being in an office full of other people (though some do still listen to internet radio which is either really good or really bad depending on how... Sunny inside and out

Just got back from Ipswich where Claire had a good dance class and I put on the fat that she lost through numerous lattes and sandwiches. It was a lovely sunny day today and I had a long walk along the waterfront watching the ships rocking gently in the breeze and the harbour water reflecting a near... Sign in to see full entry.

Weekly deadlines

After last weekend's frenetic pace we're looking forward to a more relaxing day tomorrow. On Sunday I am taking Claire to her dance classes in Ipswich but while I wait there it actually gives me the opportunity to write all day so hopefully the novel will benefit. I also have to force down steaming... Sign in to see full entry.

Mad weekend

The weekend started when I took Claire into Cambridge for her dance class on Friday evening. It was pouring with rain and the city was just gridlocked. I had to tak an alternative route and Claire eventually had to run through the rain to get there in time. A 25 minute trip took 1 hour and 45... Sign in to see full entry.
