A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

Every two to three weeks I go to get my eyebrows waxed. The place I go to is a little salon on West 8th St owned by some lovely Korean women; by now I'm sure they know who I am. At least well enough for one of them to have the following conversation with me today: Me: I'd like to get my eyebrows waxed. Korean woman: You have boyfriend? Me: Uh... no. woman: no wonder. I have this thing about not letting anyone in my real life know that I belong here. I don't know what it is, but I feel more comfortable knowing that people I know in person can't read this. My roommate came bounding into my room today (because bounding is the only word that can be used to describe his movements on a daily basis). When he did so, I quickly closed the blogit window. Today I got dressed up, dusted off my portfolio (literally!), and went to another temp agency to see if I can get work. I hadn't been having any luck with the other agency I'd been to, and thought that now is a time for a change. The receptionist sent me a typing/ MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint test to take, so I'm going to practice this evening, take it, and send it back in by Friday at the latest. During the day, do you ever find yourself in a situation where you find yourself mentally writing a blog entry? I was in one of those situations today; it was about something I witnessed today. though not as cold as it's been recently. Today I broke my vow to not spend any more money on unnecessary clothes this month and went and bought a pair of fleece gloves. I rationalize that I need them for the winter, so it was a necessary purchase. Roommate was in bed today until just about 20 minutes ago (roughly 1 pm); his dad is coming back agin this afternoon.
