Tending The Garden

....And.....I am still working on that light fixture assignment, actually. The 'bleeding' flowers are still bleeding themselves dry, out in the garage. (This is a silk string of flowers that got rinsed off and 'bled' into the kids' bathtub). Unplanned (yet very funny), the kids came home sooner than... Sign in to see full entry.

It's a Start...

I am not a good liar, so to attempt it is futile. I did not get my FlyLady task done on Thursday. Nor did I do it on Friday. Nor Saturday. Nor on Sunday. I did it just now. Getting the cobwebs off the ceiling in my dining room, and actually examining the light fixture...that was the assignment. Ha,... Sign in to see full entry.

Lessons Learned...Or Not Learned...

It's back to FlyLady for me. She wants us to dust our dining rooms, from top to bottom...oh, and to check out our light fixtures, too. I know what I'll find there, and it won't be nice. I've noticed a pattern in our home; things tidy up, and Husband's business goes better. Even if it's not going... Sign in to see full entry.

Fudge and Sushi

I can't say that I did anything productive today. And I can't say that I care, either. I wrote a bit. I did my hair. I got dressed. I put on my makeup (not too much; not in the mood to put forth a lot of effort). I sent out some emails for my property management business, and for personal... Sign in to see full entry.

A crazy, windy day. I'll say it time and time again; wind makes me crabby. Sis and I went off on a Girl's Road Trip for her fifteenth birthday. We drove a rather long distance away...that's how far we needed to get to see some different scenery, something we were both craving. Suddenly the landscape... Sign in to see full entry.

Going From Disrespect to Going to Dinner!

Feeling much better, now... I made the right move, with 'releasing' that honery client. The elderly gentleman that I am substitute caregiver for this evening...took me to dinner at a Mexican restaurant...and a good one, at that. I had the Camarones de crema, thank you very much! He told me how he... Sign in to see full entry.

The Word of the Day is Delay

Oh...and I think my first 'Homework' assignment for my Class of One for today should be this: To delay any requests made of me today. Not necessarily to tell anyone 'no', but to simply delay a decision, an answer, or dropping everything and immediately submitting to others' needs (barring an... Sign in to see full entry.

The Boundary-Maker

I took my first community education class ever last night. It was such a good time. It was an actual dance class; and the instructor was so classy. I want to be like that when I grow up (or should I say,'if'?) I worked clear up until it was almost time to go to class, rushed home to get a bite to... Sign in to see full entry.

Changing Whatever Needs to be Changed...

So here I am, on the first day of my 'sort of' unemployment. I have no official shift to my name. If I were to sum up all I've ever really wanted in my life, I could do it in two words....safety and freedom. And really, who doesn't want that. I have to feel secure before I can feel free, though...or... Sign in to see full entry.

Life's Too Short to Sort the Sheets

I did it. I told my client I was leaving today. I needed to call into work, they were requesting some information from me, and wondering if I could do some fill-in shifts for them. I didn't want her to hear, so I told her I needed some air and stepped outside for a break for a moment. Up went the... Sign in to see full entry.
