Filling a vacuum

Today started with leftover Chinese food, and vacuuming. It's almost fun to use an really effective vacuum! Having put this off for a while, I had quite a lot of almost fun! Then I went to fill the wild bird feeder, and the sliding door went about 5 inches, and bounced off something. Well, I'd rearranged some things out on the deck the other day, so I shifted things around the living room until I could access the door to the deck. Dreamtime

This morning's dream, before it gets away... There was a world I found myself in where there were three kinds of elf-like alien people, but they were all connected in a weird way. One was hostile, dangerous and dark; one was cheery and likeable, even a little sweet, but not very bright, actually rather infantile; one was the result of the other two, less exciting but the one who got things done--the only one you could talk with. On the cusp

Very late Friday... Very early Saturday, temps down around 11F tonight, though it seems to be rising slightly overnight, then all the way up to 50s during the day! That should see off the ice and snow on the streets, and there could be goings-out. I've begun to think about the Next Cat. The chosen cat, the rescue that will be an indoor cat, as distinct from the occasional visiting of the Communal Cats. Friday with Betty White

It's Friday, and it's balmy out--24F on the way to 36! Warm enough after a 2F night, that my cold water is running again, and so is the hot, which was frozen when I got up this morning. The sun is shining, and the snow... persists. I found a kinda fun show to watch. It's called Hot In Cleveland, a 2010-15 sit-com about three middle-aged women from Los Angeles who find themselves suddenly in Cleveland, Ohio. Very Cold Wednesday

Well, I guess it's winter now for sure. There are at least 6 inches of snow making all the world I can see from my house, white. That goes right along with 6F when I woke up, -6 overnight. We expect a high today ~16F, and that will likely not be warm enough to thaw the cold water pipes that froze because I forgot to leave it dripping. Usually it's only the one to the upstairs bathroom, and that's the case today. Running the hot water in the same sink helps to thaw the cold pipe as they run side... Sign in to see full entry.

memories of China

Sunny, cold Tuesday morning looking ahead to colder and snowy evening! Before Wednesday is out, we're told to expect 3-6 inches on the doorstep. Also, the Year of the Tiger has arrived, if you celebrate the lunar year, particularly the Chinese lunar year new year. Or if you just celebrate tigers! It was three years ago on this day that our visas arrived, and Charlie and I were, in fact, in April, going to China. Sunny Sunday!

As I was making breakfast, the back door slightly open, Zorro stepped in for a brief visit. Yesterday when I went downstairs to the garage, Olaf (formerly known as Big Orange Cat) was loafing on the guest bed, but didn't stay when I came in. Charlie said he saw the lovely big-ruffed tabby the other day, but that fella has not visited since I got home, that I am aware of. Out on the deck, the wind-storms in December battered the reed fencing and knocked the dove nest silly. That cleared out a lot... Sign in to see full entry.

A message from TAPS

Copy/pasted by request from our TAPS from her latest over on Facebook... For some reason my computer problems tell me that there is no longer such a thing on my computer as Blogit. I don't understand that but there are other things missing too. Along with everything else, I had a TIA the other day. Into the Weekend...!

So, running down the final row of today's numbers of clicks on my blogs: 66697 Waking today--once at 4am, then again at 7--I feel the benefit of yesterday's busy-ness, and ready to get on with today's new set of Things To Do. I started with swallowing my morning half-hour-before-eating pill, then going back to bed to finish finally the last of the last book of the series I've been reading.
