Maybe in a week...

The painting upstairs is done, and the low kitchen cabinet door with the boot-hole in it has been replaced. The vinyl tile in the foyer of this split-level will be replaced. And the obnoxious vertical blinds--the plastic rattles in every breeze from outside or heat vent or summer fan--will stay down, and be stored away in the garage. This means, I will need curtains right away, or be the neighborhood TV show at night. Sooo... rods and fabric are next on the list of to-be-made-ready. The kitchen... Sign in to see full entry.

New fish in the stream...

the photostream, that is... Today I went to get a little fish net, I will tell you why, soon. And I spotted this fine fellow, and had to bring him home. I did have an empty container... He is sitting on the kitchen window sill. Not mine, yet, but soon they will all swim over to my place which is still being repaired and cleaned. Under the weather...

$40 gets a cup of coffee and...

a long, deep 2-shelf wooden bookcase a tall wooden hutch ~30inches wide, with 2 shelves above a fold-down desk top, over another shelf a tall narrow corner shelf unit with round front, 5 shelves, painted white (extra bathroom shelving) metal over-the-tank shelving for the bathroom (not lovely, but useful, and can be painted) small black-painted coffee table (shouldn't be too hard to get rid of the paint, if I get ambitious) small black "turbo" fan (this will be needed, come summer!) card table,... Thrifting

For once, we--Charlie and I--have good excuses for spending hours in thrift stores, and a certain antique/collectibles gallery that is immense and maze-like. My son is hunting props for a play, and I am hunting furniture bargains for the new place. (Two weeks, the landlady said the other day, and walking around inside, I see her point. TAPS reminds me...

My first post ever on Blogit was on December 31, 2004, in my Universe blog. I remember thinking a long time, deciding what I had to say that I considered worth saying... and things have been occuring to me ever since. It snew...

Weather forecast said tomorrow expect snow. I didn't expect it overnight last night. Today I needed for sorting hats and stuff... making some content tags, deciding pricing for selling wholesale to a shop downtown, writing up the inventory... Tomorrow I figured on heading downtown, on a nice chilly, snowy day with the theory that that is advantageous for the selling of warm hats. Well, maybe it will snow again tonight. Cats

Specifically, my cats... the ones still living in Washington State... at least two of which will come join me when my place is ready for them. Maybe three. Violetta, the golden tabby, and Magick, the grey tabby, are the elders, both coming to us in advanced kittenhood in 2000. Ninja, the sleek black cat, arrived a year or two later, and for various reasons we suspect that he is, in fact, a descendant of the first black tom we had, who decided to live the wild life. Sunny Sunday

Woke at dawn, went back to bed at 9, woke again at noon... which is normal get-up time for my son. Like many college kids, his day lasts late into the night, and starts well past morning. The day was warm and sunny, to my delight. Anyway, we agreed that it was a day for a lunch out, to celebrate my return, and we headed for a good sushi place.
