Evening falls over Wednesday, with misty rains in the mountains--maybe the showers will reach us here and give the plants another dowsing. It has been a slow day with a bit of running around, but mostly hanging out at home. I caught up reading Blogit posts, though it was early in the day, in my pre-verbal state, so comments are a bit on the occasional side. There was half a little eggshell on the driveway below the deck today. So this summer's third hatching is happening right on schedule, about... Sign in to see full entry.

As if Monday didn't happen...
All through the weekend, I think, Monday I will get things done... Business taken care of that can't be done on weekends. Then Monday arrives, and I am somehow just not there with it, and none of the things get done, nor even thought of... and everything falls on Tuesday's shoulders. A day of not watering and the vegie garden on the back porch that gets the morning sun--the sun before it passes behind the house, the sun before clouds arise to soften it's effects--and everything is terribly limp... Nearly Saturday...
We got back pretty late from Denver, and Embers is letting me know I am not permitted to move for a while. The show, another work-in-progress, was a treat! Here's some information about it: http://www.mcnicholsbuilding.com/events/detail/seeking-charlie-russell Bill talks about the artist, Charlie Russel, about his life in late 1800s Montana and the West in general. He's been involved in a PBS documentary project, doing the voice of Russell, and that led to this. It's very personal talk about the... Sign in to see full entry.
Friday excursions
Sunny and bright today... the weather, at any rate. I am off to my usual slightly sleepy start. This afternoon Charlie and I drive up to Denver to see a one-man show from and by and with Bill Pullman. Jack, his son, with whom Charlie made puppets for THE WILD HUNT some time ago--another of Pullman's shows--will be there, too. They have remained in contact since THE WILD HUNT. It will be fun to connect face-to-face again. Charlie has put in his notice at work, and is already feeling energized by... Sign in to see full entry.

Beyond Meat review
Had a char-broiled Beyond-Meat burger yesterday. Not bad... The char-broiling gave it a good flavor, though the texture was kinda softer than I like. Apparently they overcook very easily, and burn. Then I read a review online that says what with all the not-meat but still saturated fat (like coconut oil), the lack of nutricious veg ingredients (in favor of more meat-like textures) it really isn't all that much healthier than a regular ground beef burger. Yeah, okay then... Except for the cow.... Sign in to see full entry.

Reading Day
Charlie asked me to read his almost 100-page story, and give it the writing-coach treatment. I did that today. The story is a fantasy with a sort of Chinese setting, but not defined as China. His world is full of kaiju. That's what Godzilla is, and all the huge monsters that populate that world, and Pacific Rim, if you are familiar with the couple of movies under that title. The word means, simply, Strange Beast. The whole mythos derives from ancient China:... Sign in to see full entry.

a few new photos...
A few days back, I posted the images from a local flooding creek. Yesterday I took the shots showing the normal look of the creek. And another rainbow. If you look close, you might see that it's a triple rainbow! https://www.flickr.com/gp/therovingeye/4i3Hax Sign in to see full entry.

Saturday busyness
Thunder and wind and rain... a bit wilder than CCT's misty day, and Mama Dove is huddled again on the nest where, I am guessing, there are new eggs. In another week or 10 days I'll be sure if there are not clearer signs before that. The weather has moved on... Over the mountains there are already more clouds building which could produce more of the interesting stuff. I am delighted with the rain, and that I don't have to water by hand every day. Charlie has now got definite plans to give up the... Sign in to see full entry.

The garage is back!
Charlie takes things from the truck, from upstairs and various places at my request, and sticks them in the garage. I have mentioned before, a number of times, in fact, that the main thing is to keep everything accessible. I'm not sure this gets across as I intend. After around 3 hours of reorganizing, I can tell you what, if you have a storage area of any kind, you already know: just getting rid of cardboard, flattening boxes and putting them out with the recycle, creates a LOT of space! I save... Sign in to see full entry.
A day for the birds
It's another lovely morning here. When I have finished my coffee and the current episode/rerun of The Addams Family is done, I have designs on reorganizing the garage. Every time I ask Charlie to put something in there, he forgets the first rule of garage: accessibility. Charlie's Patreon thing is coming along. He has been conferring with other artists on the platform, for ideas on how to create his site and reward his patrons. The doves are sitting on eggs again, I'm pretty sure, and the little...
