I decided to take the dogs up to the mighty falls. It was cold and windy, so there weren't many people there. We stood and watched for about twenty minutes, and even the dogs were impressed. I woke up this morning to let the dogs out into the 'big yard,' and it was snowing. Hard. We had an accumulation of about an inch, but the temps have risen to 45 now so it is all gone. Yippie! It is COLD outside! It's 29 as 5:15 PM EST. Windy too! I slept for about 14 hours and feel better. We went for a walk in the Hiawatha and along the big river, and everyone is happy. It is raining hard here right now. Add in a falling temp and a 30+ mph wind, and it is not a nice night outside! I had thought about going over to Whitefish Bay tomorrow, but I may re-think it again then. If I'm getting this much of a wind 35 miles from Superior, imagine what it might be right on... While it didn't get bitter cold overnight (yet), it was nice to have the heat working. This particular version of heater has the ceramic heating tiles in it, causing it to stay warm and cast off a small glow of heat from just the pilot being on. I was just happy that it worked! Busy, busy, day. While I didn't get anywhere near as much writing done as I had hoped, I got my upstairs heating situation fixed.
