Jesus Is In Control!

It’s cold outside and we are expecting snow and ice tonight. Today’s quiet time focused on Isaiah 40. What a wonderful reminder that I have no reason to be afraid! The Lord is on my side and is working everything out in my life for his glory and my good. The Lord is in control, I just need to let... Sign in to see full entry.

Private Lessons

I am so excited! Today I start private tutoring lessons with a second grade little girl. We will be working on reading three times a week. I am so thankful for the Lord’s love and care. I pray that he will be honored in my life and that His love would be shared in my lesson with S today. I hope you... Sign in to see full entry.

The Mall At Your Fingertips!

Exactly two weeks before Christmas and it’s beginning to feel a lot like winter here in our nation’s capital. The arrival of winter is signaled in my life when I spend Sunday worshipping the Lord from the comforts of my warm and brightly painted room because its too cold for me to go to church. I am... Does Being Cute Get You A Home?

I can’t believe its been three years this Christmas since my fifteen year old Yorkshire Terrier Binky was killed. To fill the void she left in the house and our family, we dog sit for friends and neighbors. Although Binky will always be missed and will never be replaced, I think she would want us to... Benefits Or Happiness?

Benefits or happiness? That is the question. As you may know, I recently began freelance writing. This has been a terrific experience that the Lord has richly blessed me with. It has been wonderful using the writing talent with which I have been blessed to help others. I consider this a tremendous... Sign in to see full entry.

No Ordinary Day

The skies are gray, and it sure is cold! Today is no ordinary day. It is the day after the Redskins finally won. We are also expecting our first snow of the season. My brother has a basketball game tonight, but thanks to television, I’ll be watching from the comforts of home. Thanks for visiting.... Sign in to see full entry.

Standing In Line

I was in the checkout line at the grocery store when an elderly man looked at me, smiled and said, “Hi, I can’t believe I had to go sixteen miles to the store only to stand in line for Bananas.” “My wife has a heart condition and needs the potassium,” he explained as the line moved slowly forward.... What Is There To Fear?

What a beautiful day! The sun is shining, but looks can be deceiving. Winter has made an early arrival on our doorstep. Bundling up is certainly smart, because our highs will only be in the 40’s today, if the mercury even rises that high. Good news! On Monday, I had a job interview for another... Why Do We Suffer?

No one ever said life was easy. No one ever said life was free from challenges, pain and disappointment. Today’s quiet time message focused on suffering. As Christians, how does the Lord want us to respond when pain and suffering come into our lives? It isn’t easy, but the Lord wants us to praise... Sign in to see full entry.

How Does God View Discrimination?

Today’s quiet time was about how the Lord views discrimination. The Lord looks at the intent of our heart, not our outward appearance, education level, or size of our wallet. We all make mistakes and disappoint God, but when we ask for forgiveness, He forgives and forgets our mistakes. I hope you... Sign in to see full entry.
