They come from schools that teach what has been taught for eons it seems there sre areas where there's space for open thought though. how meaningful is a wafer?

Yes, there is meaning. The people I see that take the wafer feel that meaning. The Lord's Supper is taken in different manners in different denominations. why can't we share communion?+

I just attended my father-in-law's funeral. It was a Catholic funeral. Non-catholics are not supposed to take communion. My wife was baptized Catholic, but, like all her siblings, hasn't attended a Catholic C hurch for decades, let alone go to confession. This, it seems, would prevent her from...
