Prayer, a follow-up

Due to a misunderstanding, I felt I needed to do a follow-up to my post 'Why pray?'. It seems that someone has taken some of what I have been saying and trying to claim that I have something against religion in general, which is not true. So I'll quickly look at the idea of praying again here and... Sign in to see full entry.

Pascal's Wager

Yes, I know I am the third one this weekend to write a post of the topic, but the other two were just so brilliant that they inspired me to go a head and write my own thoughts on it here. So the basic idea of the wager is this. A christian asks an atheist 'Why not believe in God? If you believe in... Sign in to see full entry.

Why pray?

I have talked about my friend who 'found God' back in high school and that caused some problems between the two of us. He is no over seas doing missionary work. He has a web site that talks about everything he is doing. It was this web site that I found that I used ot contact him after not seeing... Sign in to see full entry.

The Materialistic God

Go and read the Old testament. You will see that God is very, very materialistic. He wants everyone to build the best of things to worship him by and show him how much they love him. He wants pointless animal sacrifices, that do nothing for him, but is another form of people showing just how much... Sign in to see full entry.

What I have learned from religion part 2

God only forgives those who follow the right path. Of course everyone thinks they are on the right path and will often fight to the death to prove it. Also it seems like religion teaches people to not forgive, although it claims just the opposite. See I can forgive people without being asked to.... Sign in to see full entry.

What I have learned from religion

Even though I am not religious, I know many, many people who are. Talking with them and just being around seeing how they live and learning of stories of their lives, I have learned a lot about religion. SO the following is various stories and observations I have seen. This is one post that most... Sign in to see full entry.

Where do you draw the line?

Some of the more popular issues that keep coming up in the media (Which according to one blogger is trying to turn us the other way from this issue, which I really do not see it) have to do with the separation of church and state. I am sure everyone has heard of the Ten Commandments statue that was... Sign in to see full entry.

Let's clarify things a little here

I wish to remind people that the title of this Blog is Why I don't like organized religion. I have tried to make sure that my posts follow that theme. I have seen some people who seem to misunderstand my views, so I figured I needed to take a break from what I normally write about here and explain... Sign in to see full entry.

Those poor, poor Christians

Why do the Christians seem to want everyone to think they are always victims? Go a read a lot of the Blogs out there written by Christians. Most of them seem to want to paint the idea that if anyone talks bad about Christians that those people are mean and cruel and that the Christians are just... Sign in to see full entry.

I guess the battle is on

Or at least a Christian here, who is acting like Christians of old and trying to start up a holy crusade, (which is most likely going to fail) seems to think it is. She is trying to get people to "disprove him (God), and prove the false gods with irrefutable evidence, which has not been done, nor... Sign in to see full entry.
