The Spider and the Fly

The Spider and the Fly A spider and a fly met in a widow well one day. Said the spider to the fly, "I fear I may be swallowed by you." "Not so," replied the fly. "It is I that should fear, for it is I who may be your dinner." "But, you have seen so much of the world and I am wedded to this window corner. Your vast experience threatens to overwhelm me." "Fear not, great arachnid, you are who you are. No amount of experience can change your essence." Just so, the spider swallowed the fly and was... Sign in to see full entry.

I Reach out

I Reach Out I reach out to the highest, the purest, the most Holy in You. First, there is the blissful silence of our breath. Then, communion not in words but in worlds of knowing, passed effortlessly, One to Another: This wedded bliss. © 2011, Shamsuddin Sign in to see full entry.

Three Fifty Four in the Morning

It's three fifty four in the morning. Wide awake, the dervish brews the dervish brew. "This is the day the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it." Familiar words, scriptural words; life giving words; Words to live by. The dervish stepped out into the crispy-cold morning air. A song began in his head: The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you....... Don't go back to sleep. Do not go back to sleep. Sign in to see full entry.

Sublime Bafoonery

Smiling, I listen to the sublime bafoonery before me. Now, blessed am I with the memories of my own brand of bafoonery. We all take our turn being the fool. Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves; They shall never cease to be amused. © 2011, Shamsuddin Sign in to see full entry.

Worry Zapper (con't)

So, one day he brings home a brand new Worry Zapper. His expectation was that she would be thrilled to hear that there existed a gadget that could instantaneously zap a worry. In fact, he was surprised by the intensity of her resistance. “ Could it be?”, he wondered, that she wants her worries... is addicted to them?” He was wise enough to say nothing. What he encountered next reminde3d him of trying to coax his daughter to eat when she was three. “ Come on”, he pleaded just try a little one.” “... Sign in to see full entry.

A Short Story

A Short Story He had always been a gadget guru; His gadget collecting was born of this and not (as some had presumed)vice versa. She had always been a worry collector. She even curated a museum of past and possible future worries, and she, like tens of thousands of others, still sought the very rare 'present worry'. There were some who even believed that 'present worries' were an artifice, a myth created to defend the possession of past and future worries. Our story is an adventure born in their...
