Robin, Worm, Crow, and Vole and Raccoon Con’t. (The End?)

“Hey Rocco, looks like you got company. ….. What's this!?...This is some collection of friends. I am guessing they must be members of your carrass 1 …. Oh, what's this? … A Robin and a Worm together in the same home? … How nice.” Francis then proceeded to greet each guest in that silence which was the foundation of communication and understanding. None of this odd band would have guessed that an hour had passed in these silent greetings. None of the five can remember exactly what was shared that... Sign in to see full entry.

Robin, Worm, Crow, Vole, and Raccoon Con’t. (Waiting for Francis)

“His name is Francis and he lives here in the wood with his brothers and sisters of 'The Faith'. He knows all the critters who live in this part of the woods. In fact, he gives us each names. Mine is Rocco”, Raccoon was edging into bragging which is why by now, no one was listening anymore. They were, in fact, sharing stories of their own. Vole was telling of the time she firt heard of the Francis Hu-man. “Rat told me about him. He said he watched him leave food scraps in alleys in order that... Sign in to see full entry.

Robin, Worm, Crow, Vole and Raccoon - Worm remembers the Hu-man

“Yes, he comes by my tree every day, usually around the time when the sun is the highest. He calls himself Francis.” “Fran – sis, ….Fran-sis, … Fran-sis …” Worm said the name over and over slowly as if trying to remember some long past association to the name. Ever vigilant, Crow noted that the ‘high sun’ was less than an hour away. But Worm was lost in the contemplation of that name, Francis. Where had he heard that name before? Suddenly, he shouted, “Francis! That’s it!” All heads turned... Sign in to see full entry.

Robin, Worm, Crow, and Vole - now featuring: Raccoon

"He spoke for an hour, but he listened too. He really understood me like no other Hu-man in my past." Raccoon's eyes began to fill with warm, emotional tears, re-living those moments with the Hu-man. He said he had a message from 'The One', 'The Mystery, none greater'. He said the the day was coming and Now Is when a lion would lie down with a lamb. He claimed to be a 'voice, crying in the wilderness', " Only he said, "Crying for the Wilderness.. He remembered the lightness of his Being when the... Sign in to see full entry.

Robin, Worm, Crow, and Vole Con’t. (Raccoon's Story)

Raccoon continued searching for just the right words. "I still had my eyes closed, expecting pain and death. The next thing I knew, I was being petted gently on the top of my head! The a soft voice spoke to me saying comforting words like 'be calm... I'm not going to hurt you...'." Crow, who just always seemed to have something to say, spoke up. "Was it a hu-man?" "Yes, but unlike any I had ever heard about or observed from a distance." Worm was excited. "You see!... it is all part of my vision.... Sign in to see full entry.

Robin, Worm, Crow, and Vole Con't. (Raccoon shares his story)

Raccoon had a hundred percent of all of their attention. "I used to hunt fish, rodents and other small animals. I especially liked the taste of a fresh chicken. One day when I was hot on the trail of a guinea, I encountered a Being who changed my life." Crow interrupted, "It's a good thing you don't like crows! We would tear your eyes out!" Raccoon ingnored Crow's bravado. "This Being was like no other critter I have ever encountered. I had been taught from birth, that this species was the most... Sign in to see full entry.

Robin, Worm, Crow, and Vole Con’t. (What's in the Tree?)

" What is very interesting?" Crow was impatient. "Come and see," replied Vole nonchalantly. "Is it dangerous?" Robin asked nervously? Worm kept his silence. The three followed Vole and approached the tree. Crow (and Worm of course) was the first to enter with Robin close behind. A quick look around, even in the dim light, revealed the obvious lair of a Racoon. Nestled in the deepest part of the hollow was a large elderly Racoon. Crow was the first to speak. "So, what's your story?" he offered... Sign in to see full entry.

Robin, Worm, Crow, and Vole Continued – They Explore Worm’s Sighting

Crow banked to his left with Robin closed behind. Vole was huffing as he tried to catch up. As they got closer to worm’s discovery, Crow could see what looked like a large hollow in an even larger oak. The birds and Worm landed in the grass near the tree. A short time later, Vole caught up bearly able to speak for his shortness of breath. “What did you see?” “Just this nest,” replied Crow with obious disapointment in his voice. “We’re trusting Worm on this one.” Worm poked his head from Crow’s... Robin, Worm, Crow, And Vole continued (Worm spots something)

It was an unlikely coterie that began their journey together that day. To a casual observer, the scene was comical, with the birds and worm flitting from tree to tree and Vole scurrying right behind on the ground. Crow was in the lead, but he knew as little of where he was going as did each. Worm was perched in Crow’s open beak in awe. He had never seen the world from higher than an old log he once climbed. The expansiveness of this new world left him speechless in wonder. By now his body had... Sign in to see full entry.

Robin, Worm, Crow, and Vole Con’t. (A Journey begins)

The discussion continued for quite some time. Robin, Worm, and Vole all expressed their opinions. The one thing all agreed on was that they needed to find someone ‘who does know’ (to quote Crow). One thing led to the next and soon they found themselves, ‘the 4 musketeers on a mission’! Crow led the way (of course) cradling Worm in his Beak. Vole ran from tree to tree, following the erratic path of Crow and Robin. They had tried, as a group, to agree upon whom to see. But is was not happening and... Sign in to see full entry.

Robin, Worm, Crow, and Vole – Crow is a Skeptic

Crow continued his speech, “How would coyotes eat?… or owls? … or bobcats? Half the planet would starve to death!” Worm hung his head and his glow began to fade slightly. There was a hesitation in his voice, “I don’t know all those details. All I know is what I saw down in that tunnel and what it did to me. You all know that I did not have to return to the surface, but what I know is that I did have to return … to share what I saw!” “Well, it sure would be great not to have to listen for snakes... Robin, Worm, Crow, and Vole Continued (A Debate rages)

Well, there it was …out in the open …. shocking and too incredible to fully grok. Of course Crow was the first to speak. “I have seen the seasons come and go many times and I have seen the dangers and the consequences of a lapse in vigilance.” “I have too, but something has shifted and continues to shift,” Worm said thoughtfully, almost to himself. Vole, who usually kept her opinions to herself, spoke up and said sarcastically, “I suppose we will see a lion and lamb lying down together.” Robin... Sign in to see full entry.

Worm Finishes His Speech (Robin, Worm, Crow, and Vole Con't.)

The glow emanating from worm had now intensified to a cherry red. Even Vole had to shield her eyes. Crow and Robin had instinctively backed up a few steps from the Vole tunnel's entrance. Worm was too caught up in his own speech to notice the increasing intensity. His inner experience was of total inspiration. The fervor of inspired thoughts matched the intensity of his glow. "Friends,.... yes, I consider you all my friends; I know from my brief time on this earth that survival of the fittest is... Sign in to see full entry.

Robin, Worm, Crow, and Vole Con’t. (Worm’s confession)

"I had a lot of time to think down there in the dark," Worm struggled to come up with just the right words. "I have lived 11 winters, so I have seen a lot of things. I have seen crows eat my kind when they are hungry enough. I have even seen voles on the edge of starvation eating cardboard. I even had my tail chopped off by a shovel once, but I grew another one". Robin, Vole, and Crow were totally engaged by Worm's little speech. Serveral times, Crow wanted to interrupt, but he held his beak. He... Sign in to see full entry.

Robin, Worm, Crow, and Vole Con’t. (Worm’s confession)

Worm, already feeling akward and self conscious, was now just noticing his own glow. Everyone was staring at him. From the inside, the glow did not feel especially intense. There was no hot flash or warmth of any kind. Worm did notice a subtle shift in his internal energy. It felt like an inner tourch, a beacon of light had been lit from the inside. It gave him the confidence to speak. “All my life, I have been warned about the dangers of traveling too close to the surface. I have lost friends... Sign in to see full entry.
