We saw 'Brokeback Mountain'

There is so much to say about this movie but also so little to say. First, Heath Ledger should definitely get an Oscar for the acting job he did on the movie. We saw him two days ago in 'Casanova' and got to know his moves, but in this movie, we got to see his talent. However, 'Brokeback Mountain'... Sign in to see full entry.

A very interesting event!

The reunion was yesterday and boy, was I ever surprised at some things that went on there. First of all, I found myself in a group of people that were all talking about interesting things and were all great conversationalists. (Normally, at events like that, I go there expecting to be bored out of... Sign in to see full entry.

Was that you I saw at the Biltmore Theatre in 1969?

The musical "Hair" was playing there. I was in one of the very back rows with 15 of my best friends from high school. We had traveled there by bus from Minnesota, laughing and playing practical jokes on each other all the way across the country. Our eyes were huge at the sights of the big city and... Fading out

Tomorrow is the reunion and I have much to do today to get ready to go. On Sunday, I'll have lots of photos and some good stories to tell. Happy Friday everyone! I'm going to fade away for a little while now... it's going to be another warm day here- it was 80 degrees yesterday. Sign in to see full entry.

The Christmas present you WISH you'd gotten!

'This is a levitating hover scooter' sold by Hammacher & Schlemmer (you can only say the name of that company after a few drinks). You would probably need a few drinks to want to get on this thing too! It only costs just under $17,000.00 What do you think? Should it be on next year's list? Here's... Sign in to see full entry.

Great Aunts and roses

Last night I was thinking about this upcoming reunion and one person I thought of who I can't wait to see is my great aunt Ceil. This 90-something lady is the sweetest person in the world. She lives in a little mobile home park in Palm Springs and has some really incredible children, one who was a... Sign in to see full entry.

Who are these people?!

I'm looking out at some extreme fog, the sun is just starting to come up, our back yard trees are poking through the fog and it looks like hobbitland out there. We had so much rain yesterday-- today, it should be gone. On Saturday, I'm going to a family reunion of sorts. A whole bunch of relatives... Sign in to see full entry.

From nativity to naive

Bloggers are asking for further elaboration of my 'true confession' as discussed in passionflower's memorable recent post. I have to think about how best to do this because it is a funny story. (First, I have to remember all the details- not an easy thing because it happened about 33 years ago!)... Sign in to see full entry.

Have you seen the "Chronicles of Narnia" movie yet?

We saw it yesterday- what a wonderful movie! I had been resisting going to it because I have to be in the mood for fantasy-oriented movies but I am so glad I saw it. Our experience of the movie was somewhat degraded, however, by the noisy family sitting in back of us. What do you do when there is a... Sign in to see full entry.

Twelve inches- the space between life and death...

...alternate title, 'things you never tell your family'. Today on our motorcycle ride, a big truck came around a sharp corner way over the center line from his side of the road. Bruce was riding behind me and said the truck missed me by about 12 inches. The thing is, I didn't see how close the truck... Sign in to see full entry.
